Sport Doctors Federation, commissions and organizers at work for the restart of Italian Motorsport

A medical protocol will be defined shortly ahead of the restart of the racing activity.

April 17th, 2020 – What are the guidelines to allow a restart of the activity in our sectors for Organizers, Drivers and Teams? These and other questions are currently being addressed by several meetings that involve a lot of components of the Italian motorsport world, including the Sporting Medical Commission, the heads of the Federations, the Commissions of each Discipline and the race Organizers.

The target – that is still under investigation, but the first results should arrive next week – is to define a sporting-medical protocol to allow all the components of our racing world to prepare themselves ahead of the restart of the season. This protocol will obviously be submitted to the approval by FMSI and CONI.

This is a complex work due to the different types of races that will move from a careful analysis by the Sporting-Medical Commission of the current situation and that will then be analyzed and integrated by the organizers of road and track races and finally adapted with the help of experts from each discipline.

Such a protocol will naturally follow all the Decree-Laws issued by the Italian Government and the Directions of the local Authorities and therefore could evolve over time, depending on the development of the situation.
