Vallelunga, Paolo Ruberti (Porsche GT3R) sets the first pole of the day

17/09/2011 - Paolo Ruberti secured the first pole of the sixth round of the Italian GT Championship in Vallelunga. The colors bearer of Autorlando set the fastest lap of 1'34.326 at the wheel of the Porsche GT3R of class GT3 and therefore he will be the one starting race one from the top spot of the grid this afternoon.

The session was quite tight and Ruberti got the lead in the last seven minutes for just 52 thousands from Marco Bonanomi (Audi R8 LMS).

The Autorlando's driver will find at his side the Audi Sport Italia's colors bearer (the GT3 classification leader), whose best time was 1´34.378, while a laptime of 1´35.567 was worth the second row for Davide Di Benedetto (Corvette Z06-Island Motorsport) and Gianluca De Lorenzi (Porsche RSR GT2-GDL Racing) stopped watches with the fourth time in 1´35.805.

The fifth absolute time was set by Dindo Capello in 1´35.943, penalyzed by engine problems on his Audi R8 LMS, ahead of Ferdinando Geri (1´36.777) with the latter taking on track the new Ferrari F 458 of AF Corse.

In GT Cup a tight duel on the hundreds was fought by Giorgio Sanna and Giacomo Piccini, both on Lamborghini Gallardo. The driver of Team Imperiale ended up with the fastest time in 1´37.409 and was followed by Mik Corse's driver by just 5 hundreds of a second. The GT4 classification leader Tiziano Cappelletti (Ginetta G 50-Nova Race), ended with the fastest lap of his class in 1´43.801 ahead of Daniele Saggese,1´44.078, (Ginetta G 50-Costa Ovest).

The second qualifying is scheduled for 12.55 (local time, GMT+2).
