Vallelunga, splendid pole to Marco Cioci (Ferrari F458) in qualifying two

17/09/2011 - Ferrari answered to Porsche's pole position in qualifying one with the second pole in the sixth round of the Italian GT Championship. The pole sitter will be Marco Cioci, at his debut of the season in the championship, at the wheel of the newly born racer of the Maranello brand, the F458.

The colors bearer of AF Corse was the only driver to go beyond the wall of 1'35 setting a fastest lap of 1´34,956 and giving more than a second to the other driver that will line up in the front row, Michele Merendino. The Sicilian driver, at the wheel of the Corvette Z06 of Island Motorsport set a fastest lap of 1´36.030 and managed to recover two positions in the final stages overtaking in this way Audi Sport Italia's drivers Andrea Sonvico (1´36.601) and Gianluca Giraudi just a thousand shy his team mate.

In GT Cup, Lamborghini's domination in session one was counter charged by Porsche with Rino Mastronardi (GDL Racing) fastest in 1'38.129, ahed of the two Gallardo driven by Stefano Livio (1'38.340) and Davide Stancheris (1'38.592).

In GT4, Matteo Cressoni (Ginetta G 50-Nova Race) set a fastest time of 1´43.766 ahead of his team mate Piero Limonta (1´44.404).
The programme will continue at 17 (local time, GMT+2) with classes GT2, GT3 and GT4 race one, while at 18.10 GT Cup will fight race one out together with the Maserati GT MC racing in the single branded championship.
