Imola, the Italian GT Championship resuming after the summer break

Engines will be roaring this coming weekend for the third-last round of the season, that will welcome the debut in the Italian championship of the class GT3 Mclaren MP4-12C with very open classifications in the four classes. 29/08/2012 – The circuit Enzo e Dino Ferrari of Imola will mark the restart of the Italian GT Championship at the end of the summer break. The engines of the powerful GT cars will roar for the 5th round of the season welcoming the debut in the Italian series of the McLaren MP4-12C with the colors of Bhatech Racing who will be taken on track in this occasion byAlessandra Neri and Chris van der Drift.

Strong emotions will characterize the GT3 class where the British car will get inside the duel between Audi, BMW, Porsche and Ferrari, in a very tight classification that is lead by Andrea Sonvico (Audi R8 LMS ultra -Audi Sport Italia) ahead of his team mates Davide Di Benedetto and Alex Frassineti.

Thanks to the change of the minimum height from the ground of the BMW Z4, that CSAI's bureau reset the values to those of the season start, the two lineups of ROAL Motorsport made by Biagi-Colombo, fourth at 13 points from the leader, and Cerruti-Liberati, will be awaited to a immediate counter-charge.

At Porche, the lineup Balzan-Barri (Porsche GT3R), is coming from a one-two in the last weekend in Austria which relaunched the final victory ambitions of the Ebimotors pairing, that is now 16 points shy of the top of the charts. At Antonelli Motorsport Paolo Ruberti will be back in the Italian GT replacing Massimo Monti on the side of Christian Passuti.

Ready for the counter is also the lineup made by Comandini-Fornaroli (Ferrari 458 Italia), that was penalyzed by the bad luck in the two Austrian races where the Vita4One Team Italy drivers showed to be able to fight with the best, while Mancini-Lancieri (Ferrari 458 Italia-Easy Race) are awaited to a confirmation after the great result of the Red Bull Ring.

Ferrari e Porsche will battle in GT2 with Rocca-Romanini (Black Team), leading the classfication ahead of the brothers Victor and Giovanni Coggiola (CVG S.A), while in GT Cupthe duel Porsche-Lamborghini will see the 1st division leaders Cicognani-Garanzotto (Antonelli Motorsport) fighting against the reigning champions Sanna-Stancheris (Imperiale Racing), that will be helped in the occasion by a second lineup at the wheel of a Gallardo of the Brand from Sant’Agata Bolognese made by Babini-Piancastelli. The Ferrari 458 Italia will try to place itself between Porsche and Lamborghini, with the Ukraine drivers with the colors of Team MU Motorsport, Kruglyk-Tsyplakov, race-1 winners in race one and Lebed-Tamrazov, at the debut in the series.

In 2nd division the all-Antonelli Motorsport duel continues with Vincenzo Donativi (Porsche 997), still waiting to know his co-equiper.

The programme of the two days of Imola schedules two qualifying sessions on Saturday (at 9,00 and 11,05 GMT+2), followed by race-1 at 16,55. The second race will start on Sunday morning at 12.00. Both races will be run on the length of 48 minutes plus one lap and will be live on TV on Sportitalia and web streaming at vvvw.acisportitalia.it.
