Imola, Balzan-Barri (Porsche GT3R) unbeatable winners of race one getting the lead of GT3 classification

The success of the Stuttgard house was completed by the second place obtained by Ruberti-Passuti that proceeded the BMW Z4 of Biagi-Colombo

01/09/2012 - Alessandro Balzan and Giacomo Barri have been uncatchable in the first race of the 5th round of the Italian GT Championship undergoing at Imola’s circuit.

The color bearers of Ebimotors got the second win of the season behind the wheel of the Porsche GT3R and get the lead of the general classification of GT3 class, equal on points at 104 with Andrea Sonvico (Audi R8 LMS-Audi Sport Italia), seventh at the chequered flag with Dindo Capello.

Behind Balzan-Barri at 8"308 ended Ruberti-Passuti, at the wheel of the second 911 GT3R lined up in the championship, that belonging to Antonelli Motorsport, while third at 15"555 were Biagi-Colombo (BMW Z4-ROAL Motorsport), after a nice duel with Fornaroli-Comandini (Ferrari 458 Italia-Vita4One Team Italy), who were pushed down of the podium by a 9 tenths penalty due to an irregular driver’s swap.
Bad luck instead for the second Audi’s lineup as Di Benedetto-Frassineti went out in the initial stages due to an excursion of Davide Di Benedetto who is anyway still in the fight for the Italian championship with 13 points to recover to the classification leaders.

Good debut for the lineup Neri-Van der Drift, eighth at the flag, that made the McLaren MP4-12C of Bhaitech Racing debut finishing ahead of Sanna-Stancheris (Lamborghini Gallardo-Imperiale Racing), who were the winners of the GT Cup 1st division, followed by Kruglyk-Tsyplakov (Ferrari 458 Italia-MU Motorsport) and Granzotto-Cicognani (Porsche 997-Antonelli Motorsport), with the latter still leading the charts. In 2nd Division, Donativi-Negroni (Porsche 997-Antonelli Motorsport) went on the top step of the podium, while in GT2 the victory was obtained by the brothers Coggiola (Porsche RSR-CVG S.A).

The second race is scheduled for tomorrow at 12.00 (GMT+2) on 48 minutes + 1lap. It will be live on Sportitalia and web streaming at vvvw.acisportitalia.it.
