Mugello, Alex Frassineti (Audi R8 LMS) gets race-2’s pole

The 24 years old driver from Rome of Audi Sport Italy set the pace leading the BMW Z4 of Thomas Biagi at the end of a tight session.

22/09/2012 – The second qualifying session has been quite exciting at the Mugello race track where the sixth and penultimate round of the Italian GT Championship is undergoing.

At the end of very tight thirty minutes, the 24 years old from Rome Alex Frassineti (Audi R8 LMS) set the fastest lap (1'49.378) securing the first pole position of the season. “I could have done even better in the sector between the corners of Arrabbiata – commented the Audi Sport Italy’s color bearer – but it is ok like this, being on pole ahead of the BMW i san exciting result".

Behind him, Thomas Biagi (BMW Z4-ROAL Motorsport), who has been good in the final stage sto get the second place setting a quickest lap of 1'49.424 ahead of his team mate Edoardo Liberati (1'49.451), while the fourth time(1'49.725) was set by Dindo Capello (Audi R8 LMS-Audi Sport Italy).

Good fifth time (1'50.158) for Stefano Comandini (Ferrari 458 Italia-Vita4One Team Italy) who ended the session ahead of the two Porsche GT3R driven by Christian Passuti (Antonelli Motorsport-1'50.723) and Alessandro Balzan (Ebimotors-1'51.172) and the Mercedes SLS del GDL Racing di Piero Necchi (1'51.535) at the debut.

In GT Cup the best time was set by the Lamborghini Gallardo (Imperiale Racing) of Davide Stancheris (1'55.897), who ended ahead of the two Porsche 997 of Alessandro Cicognani (1'55.976) and Vincenzo Donativi (1'59.261).

Tomorrow morning at 11.40 (GMT+2) the first race of the weekend (48 minutes + 1 lap) that will go live on TV on Sportitalia and streaming web on www.acisportitalia.it.
