All set at Misano World Circuit for the 11th edition of the Italian GT Championship

Two races to open this weekend the 2013 Italian GT in an edition that features a very interesting entry list with several cars lined up by works teams.

The Misano World Circuit will open the 11th edition of the Italian Grand Touring Championship, the series reserved to the splendid GT cars that has always been producing interesting duels among the most prestigious brands worldwide.

Two Italian titles will be awarded: GT3 and GT Cup. In the main class, the title obtained by BMW in 2012 will be defended by two Z4 belonging to ROAL Motorsport with Comandini-Colombo and Michela Cerruti behind the wheel, with the latter racing alone as allowed in this years' sportive regulations.

The two Audi R8LMS ultra of Audi Sport Italy will be among the strongest rivals they will have to face the first driven by the solid pairing Capello-Sonvico and the other by the new lineup made by the new entry Johan Kristoffersson and Alex Frassineti, with the latter already among the protagonists in the past edition.

Two Porsche will be present, the first belonging to Antonelli Motorsport that confirmed Christian Passuti and the Italian GT Cup 2010 Champion Marco Mapelli, while the second will be lined up by Ebimotors and will be driven by the Carrera Cup Italy reigning Champion Vito Postiglione and by Luigi Lucchini.

Double presence also for Ferrari with the Ferrari 458 Italia, one by the Black Bull Swisse Racing driven by Venturi-Maino (the team is also ready to lineup a second car for Andrea Invernizzi starting from the second round of the championship at Red Bull Ring), and one belonging to the newly born team from Ancona, MP1 Corse that gave the Maranello's GT chamllenger to Gabriele Lancieri and Giuseppe Ciró.

The novelty of this 11th edition of the series is the debut of Lamborghini in class GT3 thanks to two Italian teams. Imperiale Racing, winner of the 2011 GT Cup title, will take on track the Gallardo FL2 driven by Giorgio Sanna and Giacomo Barri, with the latter protagonist last year with Alessandro Balzan at the wheel of the Porsche GT3R, while MIK Events will lineup an identical car with Daniele Mulacchié and Luca Rangoni.

The prestigious entry list will be completed by the Corvette  Z06 belonging to RC Motorsport, that take on track a quite expert lineup made by Roberto  Del Castello and Piero Necchi.

The class reserved to single brands will also feature interesting lineups, all of which currently on the Porsche GT 3 Cup but a couple of Ferraris and Lamborghinis are on their way to be lined up starting from the second round od the season. On track in Misano will be Donativi-Gioia, Brambati-Galbiati and Marco Magli (Antonelli Motorsport), Pan-Jacoma (Ebimotors), Bianco-Babini (ZRS Motorsport) and Sala-Pircler (Heaven Motorsport).

Two races are sceheduled on Sunday (at 9,05 GMT+1 and 13,05) both run on 48 minutes + 1 lap. They will go live on Raisport2 and will also be shown recored on Nuvolari TV, while the two qualifying sessions will take place on Saturday at 16,40 and 19,10.
