Imola's poles go to Stefano Colombo (BMW Z4) and Mirko Venturi (Ferrari 458 Italia)

The two drivers dominated qualifying, but the absolute protagonist has been Michela Cerruti, very good second in both sessions.

Stefano Colomo (BMW Z4) and Mirko Venturi (Ferrari 458 Italia) will start the two races of the 5th round of the Italian GT Championship scheduled for tomorrow in Imola from the pole position.

In the first qualifying ROAL Motorsport's driver posted a quickest lap of 1'44.203 proceeding his team mate Michela Cerruti  (1'44.440). The two were the only one to beat the 1.45 wall and fought until the end with the good Milanese driver managed to be on top in a couple of occasions during the 20 minutes of the session.

The third time (1'45.234) was set by the Swede Kristoffersson (Audi R8 LMS-Audi Sport Italia) who led Giuseppe Cirò (Ferrari 458 Italia-MP1 Corse), as the latter posted his personal best in 1'45.453. Third row in race-1 for Giorgio Sanna (Lamborghini Gallardo-Imperiale Racing), 1'45.760, and Tommaso Maino (Ferrari 458 Italia-Black Bull Swisse Racing), who stopped watches after 1'45.849.

In the second session Venturi set the pole in 1'44.066 proceedding by just 17 hundredths the good Michela Cerruti showing a great shape today. Giacomo Barri (Lamborghini Gallardo-Imperiale Racing) posted a 1'44.396 that was worth the third place on the grid, ahead of Alex Frassineti (Audi R8 LMS-Audi Sport Italia), who completed the lap in 1'44.561, Vito Postiglione (Porsche GT3R-Ebimotors), followed in fifth with a time of 1'44.664, and Stefano Comandini (BMW Z4-ROAL Motorsport), was sixth in 1'44.746.

In GT Cup the two pole positions went to Luca Rangoni (Porsche 997-Antonelli Motorsport) in 1'49.292 and to Fabio Babini (Porsche 997-GDL Racing) in 1'48.865.

The two races of 48 minutes + 1 lap will start tomorrow at 9.00 (GMT+2) and 14.40. Race 1 will go live on Rai Sport 2, while race two will be shown recorded at 17.20. Both races will be available through web streaming at www.acisportitalia.it/GT.
