All is set at the circuit of Vallelunga for the 6th and penultimate act of the season of the Italian GT Championship scheduled for this coming weekend. The circuit at the doorstep of Rome opens the final stages of the season that will reach its conclusion in Monza next October 20th.

The two Italian titles – i.e. the GT3 and GT Cup – have still to be decided. In the highest class,Vito Postiglione and Luigi Lucchini (Porsche GT3R-Ebimotors) are currently leading the charts but behind them Mirko Venturi and Tommaso Maino (Ferrari 458 Italia) are closing up though. Considering also the discard of two results, as in the regulations, the color bearers of Black Bull Swisse Racing are virtually leading the championship, but as 80 points are still to be awarded, everything is still possible.

The two races near Rome will see not have Giuseppe Cirò – fifth in the standings at 95 points – at the start. The strong driver from Cosenza defended MP1 Corse's colors with co-equiper Gabriele Lancieri, and now gave his seat in the Ferrari 458 Italia to Piero Necchi. The latter already got on track with the Corvette Z06 GT in the opening races in Misano with co-equiper Roberto Del Castello.

After the double win earlier this month, the BMW Z4 (ROAL Motorsport) of Comandini-Colombo and that of Michela Cerruti are among the most awaited cars, as the Audi R8 LMS of Capello-Sonvico and Frassineti-Kristoffersson (Audi Sport Italia), the Lamborghini Gallardo of Sanna-Barri (Imperiale Racing) and the Porsche GT3R of Passuti-Mapelli (Antonelli Motorsport).

In GT Cup, the Porsche 997 driven by Babini-Biango (GDL Motorsport) is dominating the series, while the Lamborghini Gallardo lined up by Bonaldi Motorsport will make its debut with Mirko Zanardini, that will race with the mourning sign in honour of his coequiper Andrea Mamè who recently passed away.

The top step of the podium will be contended to the lineup of Gianluca De Lorenzi's lineup – that put in six wins so far – by the coupe of Stuttgart's firm driven by Marco Magli, Donativi-Gaiotto and Galbiati-Brambati (Antonelli Motorsport) and by that of Pan-Gardel (Ebimotors).

The programme of the weekend schedules two free practice sessions on Saturday (from 16.50 local time to 17.40), while the two races of 48 minutes + 1lap will be run on Sunday (at 9.05 and 17.00) with live TV coverage on Raisport2 and web streaming at www.acisportitalia.it/GT.
