Monza's racetrack to welcome 25 cars to the second round of the Italian GT Championship

Cars back on track this coming weekend. Nissan GT-R (Nova Race) new entry in GT3. Audi all set to confirm the very good start of Misano, while a second Lamborghini joins a Porsche dominated GT Cup.

Twenty-five cars will make it to the start of the two races of the second round of the Italian GT Championship, scheduled in Monza this coming weekend. After the splendid start held in Misano, the tricolored series will get to the fast circuit near Milan with a solid entry list that will comprise the new-entry Nissan GT-R NISMO run by Nova Race with the lineup Bontempelli-Caccia.

In class GT3, Audi R8 LMS of Capello-Zonzini and Mapelli-Schoeffler will be the cars to be beaten, as they have been the unquestioned leaders of the opening races, but nevertheless, some other lineups will be ready to figth for the podium. Among these, Donativi-Gagliardini (Porsche GT3R-Ebimotors), that have been protagonist in Misano's race-2 as well as the other lineups of the Stuttgart's house Beretta-Carboni, Bianco-Babini (Autorlando) and Stefano Pezzucchi (Krypton Motorsport).


The Ferrari lot will also try to challenge the two Audi Sport Italia's challengers. Alessandro Balzan will not be present due to a conflicting international commitment and Gabriele Lancieri will be back on the 458 Italia run by MP1 Corse with his co-equiper Nicola Benucci. Team Malucelli will bring on track a new lineup made by Alex Frassineti and Piero Necchi. Casè-Giammaria (Scuderia Baldini 27) and Magli-Ferrara (Easy Race) will be quite motivated to counter-charge after the unlucky exit to Misano, as the latter came to the fore in the pre-race testing held last week.

Amici-Barri, on a Lamborghini Gallardo run by Imperiale Racing and Benedetti-D'Amico (Corvette Z06-RCMotorsport) will be at the start strong with the performance shown in Misano, while the 18 years old Francisco Mora, who raced alone in Misano, in Monza will share the wheel of the Mercedes SLS of Sports &You with the 23years old driver from Angola Luis Sá Silva.

A new entry will also be present in GT Cup as another Lamborghini driven by Tempesta-Iacone will race alongside team mates "El Pato"-Zanardini. The two lineups of Bonaldi Motorsport will try to challenge the Porsche dominion displayed by current classification leaders Galbiati-Passuti (Antonelli Motorsport) and by Fabrizio Bignotti (Krypton Motorsport), who won Misano's race-1. The team from Brescia will moreover line up a second 997 Cup driven by Quaglia-Pastorelli. Alike, Ebimotors will double its presence and "Spezz" will be sided by another German coupe driven by Livio Selva.

Antonelli Motorsport's squad will be completed by Pierluigi Alessandri, who will be racing alone, and by Baccani-Venerosi, while Bodega-Maestri (Drive Technology) and Emanuele Romani (MRacing) will get on track with two Porsche 997 which will increase the number of German coupes in GT Cup to nine.

The weekend of Monza will schedule qualifying on Saturday (at 11,05 local time) and race-1 (17,20), while race-2 will take place on Sunday starting from 15,50. Both races will be aired live on Dinamica Channel, while the web streaming will be available through www.acisportitalia.it/GT . RaiSport2 will show a recored broadcast of the races too (race-1 on Sunday 1 June at 01,00, race two on Monday 2 June at 01,00).
