Lamborghini has been dominating race-1 in Imola's second round of the Italian GT Championship. The Huracans lined up by Imperiale Racing dominated the highest class taking the top two positions of the podium with Bortolotti-Mul and Pezzucchi-Venturini, while the Gallardo of Postiglione-Gagliardini, at their debut of the season, triumphed in class GT3. Race-2 is scheduled for tomorrow at local 11,30 with live coverage on Raisport2.

SUPER GT3: The victory of Bortolotti-Mul has never been under question. Bortolotti, started from the pole, did not have problems to manage Mapelli behind, who in turn started alongside him and Pezzucchi who installed himself in third during the first lap.

At the drivers' exchange, Mui took the car on the lead and was followed by Venturini, who took over from Pezzucchi. The two color bearers of Imperiale Racing ended the race closing nearly in a parade leading the Audi R8 of Albuquerque. The Portuguese driver, lost some precious seconds at the drivers' change, as the left rear tyre had to be changed as it lost pressure during the final kilometers of Mapelli's stint.

The fourth place went to Sini-Mugelli, (Aston Martin Vantage), but the third place, that has been for a long time in the hands of Solaris Motorsport's drivers, slipped out of their hands at the penultimate lap, when Mugelli could not fend off Albuquerque. Behind them, Agostini-Di Folco (Lamborghini Huracan-Antonelli Motorsport) led the Ferrari 488 GT3 (Easy Race) of Ferdinando Geri and Daniel Mancinelli, as the latter put in a great comeback race in the second stint, and the sister car run by Black Bull Racing for Gai-Venturi. The Huracan driven by Gattuso-Frassineti (Ombra Racing) was only eighth and proceeded the Nissan GT-R of Linossi-Bontempelli (Drive Technology Italia).

GT3: The victory scored by Postiglione-Gagliardini, at the debut in this season, marked the hundredth victory in career for the strong driver from Potenza. Started alongside Russo (Audi R8 LMS), Postiglione took an early lead and then easily managed the race from Audi Sport Italia's attacks and from Edward Cheever III (Ferrari 458 Italia-Scuderia Baldini 27).

The positions did not change after drivers change either, as Gagliardini kept the lead but in the heat of the closing stages Zonzini, who took over from Russo, was taken by Leo who took over from Cheever. Scuderia Baldini 27 drivers ended behind Postiglione-Gagliardini and ahead of Marco Galassi (Ferrari 458 Italia-Team Malucelli), Venerosi-Baccani (Porsche 997-Ebimotors) , Valori-Monfardini (Lamborghini Gallardo-Cars Engineering) and Luca and Nicola Pastorelli (Porsche GT3R-Krypton Motorsport), as the latter had a spin towards the end of the race which did not allow them to end fourth.
