Another record for the Italian GT Championship: 43 cars on track in Mugello's 4th round of the season

The Italian series increased the number of entered drivers in this racing weekend in Tuscany that marks the turning point of the season. All classifications still open. Four scheduled races with live TV coverage on Raisport2 and AutomotoTV.

Another participation record at Mugello Circuit this weekend for the Italian GT Championship, the turning point of the 2016 season. The challenging track near Florence will see 43 cars on track in the four races of the weekend, which is a new record in the 14th Italian season.

SUPER GT3: Mapelli-Albuquerque (Audi R8 LMS-Audi Sport Italia) is going to be the crew to be beaten as they are 11 points clear of Venturi-Gai (Ferrari 488 GT3). Black Bull Swisse Racing's pairing comes from the race-2 victory of Misano and get to this round as the favourites in the title hunt, but a lot of rivals can still aim to the championship, starting from Sini-Mugelli (Aston Martin Vantage-Solaris Motorsport), that are looking for the first win of the season after a third place in the two most recent rounds.
Two new cars will join Super GT3 in Mugello: a Lamborghini Huracan and a Ferrari 488 GT3. The lot of the cars built in Sant'Agata Bolognese comprises Agostini-Di Folco (Antonelli Motorsport), Frassineti-Gattuso (Ombra Racing), Bortolotti-Mul and Pezzucchi-Venturini (Imperiale Racing), with the new entry of Team Ebimotors' challenger driven by Emanuele Busnelli and Fabio Babini, while the American Gregory Romanelli will be back to the Italian Championship on the Ferrari run by TR3 Performance with Easy Race support. He will share the drive of the Maranello's car with Daniel Mancinelli. Easy Race will also field the Italian Andrea Montermini who will share the Ferrari 488 GT3 with Ferdinando Geri. Also on track, race-1 winners in Misano Cerqui-Comandini (BMW M6 GT3-BMWTeam Italia) and Linossi-Bontempelli (Nissan GT R-Drive Technology Italia) that complete the entry list of the highest category

GT3: The classification is quite short and GT3 gets to Mugello with several drivers ready to fight for the top step of the podium. The classification is currently led by Venerosi-Baccani (Porsche GT3R), but Ebimotors' pairing is only three points clear of Zonzini-Russo (Audi R8 LMS-Audi Sport Italia) and five of Luca and Nicola Pastorelli (Porsche GT3R). Among the most awaited protagonists, Postiglione-Gagliardini (Lamborghini Gallardo-Imperiale Racing) are only half a point shy of the Krypton Motorsport's drivers and Leo-Cheever (Ferrari 458 Italia-Scuderia Baldini 27) have been great second in the two races of Misano.. The GT3 entry list is completed by Galassi-Tempesta on Ferrari 458 Italia run by Team Malucelli.

SUPER GT CUP: An high level of spectacle characterized all the races run so far for the single make class devoted to the Lamborghini Huracans and interesting races are certainly ahead in Mugello. Vincenzo Sospiri Racing's cars will probably be very strong as they dominated both races in Misano with Costa-Krenzia and Baruch-Liang. Raton Racing will field Zaugg-D'Amico and Tanca Comi, while Antonelli Motorsport will line up four cars: one for the new entry Kikko Galbiati and Simone Sartori as the others will be driven by Necchi-Spinelli, Takashi- Desideri and Mantovani-Negra.

GT CUP: New arrivals also in this category, as Benvenuti-Demarchi (Lamborghini Gallardo-Imperiale Racing) lead the classification. Four Ferrari 458 Italia will make their debut in Mugello: the three belonging toTeam MP Racing will be driven by Prinoth-"Babalus", Corinna and Emanuela Gostner, David and Thomas Gostner, while the car run by Caal Racing will have Baccarelli-Ferrara behind the wheel. The two new Porsche 997 of Drive Technology Italia will be driven by Carboni-Durante and Trentin-Palazzo. The two 458 Italia of Zanardini-Sauto and Romani-Deodati (Duell Race) will also be at the start, as the Porsche 997 of Misano's race-2 winners Maino-Benucci and that of Lino and Carlo Curti ( Ebimotors).

GT 4: Dario Cerati and Maurizio Fondi joined the GT4 entry list on the Autorlando's Porsche 997.

COPPA CAYMAN: Five Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport will make it to the track in Mugello. Among these, that of provisional classification leader Riccardo Pera. Ebimotors colors bearer will have to face the challenge of Bianco-De Castro (Krypton Motorsport) that chase him in the classification, that of Matteo and Federico Zangari (CVG Motorsport) , Mercatali-Cecotto (Dinamic Motorsport) and team mate Gianluigi Piccioli.

PROGRAMME (GMT+2): The programme of the fourth racing weekend of the season schedules two qualifying sessions for SGT3 and GT3 on Friday afternoon (from local18,15 to 19,05), while SGT Cup-GT Cup, GT4 and Cayman will get on track on Saturday morning from 9 toe 9,50. The first two races will follow in the afternoon at 12,45 (SGT3 and GT3) and at 15,30 (SGT Cup, GT Cup, GT4 and Cayman). Race-2 SGT-GT3 will start on Sunday morning (at 9,50) and will be followed by race-2 of SGT Cup- GT Cup-GT4 and Cayman at 11,50. All the races of the length of 48minutes+1 lap will be covered live by Raisport2 (S.GT3-GT3) and AutomotoTV (SGT Cup-GT Cup-GT4 e Cayman) as well as in web streaming at www.acisportitalia.it/GT.
