All is set at the Misano World Circuit for the third round of the Italian GT Championship 2018, race scheduled for this weekend. After the French exit at Paul Ricard, the Italian series will get on track in Misano with a very compact classification featuring ten drivers within eight points only. GT3 classification leader Giancarlo Fisichella will not take part in the two races as he will be competing in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, but former Formula 1 driver will be replaced by Michele Rugolo, who will share driving duties with Stefano Gai on the Ferrari 488 run by Scuderia Baldini 27. The event will feature the participation of two International champions: Bruno Spengler and Jamie Green. The first, who is a BMW factory driver, will be behind the wheel of the M6 GT3 run by BMW Padova Team alongside Stefano Comandini, while the British Audi factory driver will share the R8 LMS run by Audi Sport Italia with Bar Baruch. The house of the Rings will also compete in GT3 Light with the R8 LMS ultra run by Nova Race and driven by Magnoni-Cressoni, that will have to face the challenge of the Ferrari 458 Italia of Marco Magli (Easy Race).

Three Lamborghini will compete in GT3 also in Misano. Alongside the two Huracans fielded by Antonelli Motorsport for Zampieri-Altoè and Vedel-Veglia, that are now ready to fight for the top step of the podium, Petri Corse Motorsport will line up one car for Palma-Barri that will try and repeat the result of Paul Ricard. Strong with the French Race-1 victory, Mancinelli-Fontana (Ferrari 488-Easy Race) are called to a strong performance that would keep them on the positions that count in the overall classification.

A third car run by Antonelli Motorsport will enrich the fields of class Super GT Cup, open to the Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo cars. Alongside, Perolini-Valente and Cenedese-Sartori, the Bolognese team will field a car for Pierluigi Alessandri, who has already been at the start in some races in the past editions. Among the Porsche fielded in GT Cup, the classification is currently led by the 911 Cup of Merendino-Di Benedetto (Island Motorsport) that will be challenged by Pisani-Sauto (Siliprandi Racing) and La Mazza-Nicolosi (Ebimotors). Two Ginetta G55 will be fielded by Nova Race in GT4 for Magnoni Cressoni, pairing that will also compete in GT3 on Audi, and for Marchetti-Kauppi.
