GT3 CLASSIFICATION

The victory in the other classes went to Cenedese-Galbiati (Lamborghini Huracan-Antonelli Motorsport) in Super GT Cup, while Pisani-Sauto (Porsche 991-Duell Race-TFT Team) repeated race-1 victory in GT Cup.

RACE-2 CLASSIFICATION

Race-2: A deserved victory and the classification lead in GT3. The 4th round of the Italian GT Championship could not end better for Scuderia Baldini 27’s pairing Fisichella-Gai, and in particular for the Milanese driver who installed himself on top of the classification. The second win of the season was basically taken in the first stint when Gai got an early lead getting past poleman Zampieri and controlling on Mancinelli who took the lead on lap six.

At the pit stop, Fisichella got the most of the handicap time served by Easy Race’s pairing, and found himself on top, keeping the position afterwards all the way to the flag where he led Baruch. The Audi Sport Italia’s driver took over from Fassler and was eventually given a 2”67s time handicap due to the irregular driver-change and was relegated to P3 behind Postiglione. A good duel inflamed the closing laps of the Israeli driver, who managed to fend off the rival of Imperiale Racing, who took over from a great Venturini.

The fourth place went to Comandini-Krohn on BMW M6 GT3 run by BMW Team Padova, who put in a good performance despite the time handicap following race-1’s victory, and proceeded Palma-Barri (Lamborghini Huracan-Petri Corse Motorsport) and Liang-Giammaria (Lamborghini Huracan-Imperiale Racing). Following the first stint put in by the driver from Rome in P3, the young Chinese could not defend P2, ending the race ahead of Nicola Larini, that brought the Bentley Continental run by Petri Corse Motorsport to the debut in the series with Alex Caffi.

The ninth position went to Vedel-Veglia, that were penalized by a spun of the driver from Turin in the initial stages. They led Mancinelli-Fontana (Ferrari 488). The Easy Race’s pairing had tough luck as the podium vanished in the closing stages due to a puncture when Fontana was second. GT3 classification leader Zampieri-Altoè (Lamborghini Huracan-Antonelli Motorsport) had a very tough race-2 and retired from the race on lap five due to the failure of the radiator following a collision with some debris. They now are third in the overall classification. The twelfth place went to De Castro-Piccioli (GT3 AM) as they had two punctures on the Lamborghini Huracan of Ebimotors.

In Super GT Cup, following race-1 victory, Cenedese-Galbiati (Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo-Antonelli Motorsport) ended tenth overall and repeated the victory leading teammates Perolini-Valente, while Pisani-Sauto (Porsche 991-Dull Race-TFT Team) got again on the top step of the podium in GT Cup proceeding La Mazza-Nicolosi (Porsche 991-Ebimotors) and Di Benedetto-Guagliardo (Porsche 991-Island Motorsport), as the latter were penalized by the failure of the ABS on their car.

The Italian GT Championship will now go on holiday and will resume from Vallelunga next September 8th -9th.
