In the highest class of the Sprint series in Mugello BMW Team Italia claimed the second victory on a track that has traditionally been suiting the cars from Munich. This victory was built in the first stint by Erik Johannson, who gained a position at the start installing himself behind poleman Fuoco. The 22 years old Swede always kept within 2s from the leader handing the car over to his coequiper Comandini, who took the lead thanks to the 20s time penalty that Hudspeth had to serve while taking over from Fuoco. The driver from Rome had a down-hill second stint and closed the race in the lead followed by Alessio Rovera, who took P2 taking over from Agostini who had been good staying close to the top 3 in the first stint.

Antonelli Motorsport’s pairing led the Audi R8 LMS of Fontana-Kaffer that ended a recovery race started from the fifth place on the starting grid. In the first stint Kaffer had the best of Gersekowski, but just before the driver change the German had to concede the position to Veglia who got P3 and kept it until the flag.

Postiglione-Mul ended close to the podium, keeping an eye to the classification. The Dutch driver lost a position at the start but handed the car to his coequiper in P3. The Italian had to serve the time penalty in the pits and slipped down to P5, that then he improved overtaking Hudspeth. The AF Corse’s driver ended fifth with Antonio Fuoco (Ferrari 488), who secured the pole position and led throughout the first stint proceeding the sister cars driven byDi Amato-Vezzoni and Mann-Cioci.

RS Racing’s pairing had another unlucky performance despite a great start by Vezzoni and a recovery second stint by the strong driver from Rome, penalized in the closing stages by a setup problem following contact with Baldan (Mercedes AMG GT3-Antonelli Motorsport), who also got beached while fighting for P6.

Mann-Cioci (Ferrari 488-AF Corse) secured the eighth place leading Andrea Larini (Mercedes AMG GT3-Antonelli Motorsport) and Perolini-Gersekowski (Lamborghini Huracan-Imperiale Racing), while Cuneo-Magnoni (Lamborghini Huracan-LP Racing) were 12th and first of AM.

GT LIGHT

After the second place in Imola’s race-2, the 16 years old Mattia Michelotto (Lamborghini Huracan ST) claimed his maiden win in GT Light in Mugello. The Antonelli Motorsport’s driver took the lead in the second part of the race when the Ferrari 458 Italia of Giorgio Sernagiotto had a problem to the gearbox, after Lippi led the race from the young driver from Padova to Jirik-Paolino, that were third at the flag.

GT 4

In GT4 the result shown on track was changed after the race when the winners Fascicolo-Guerra were excluded since the minimum amount of fuel was not available in the tank and the victory was therefore inherited by Riccitelli-De Castro. De Castro and Magnoni came to the fore in the first part of the race with a duel and a couple of position changes, while Fascicolo overtook Mantori for P3. At lap 16 Magnoni had to retire due to the failure of the axle-shaft and left the lead to Riccitelli. The young Italian had to concede his position to Guerra, who took over from Fascicolo on lap 18, while Camathias reached P3 after taking over from Ghezzi. The second Cayman of Autorlando, that driven by Cerati-Chiesa, ended at the feet of the podium proceeding the sister car driven by Piccioli-Costa (Ebimotors) and the Ginetta G55 of Marchetti-Mantori (Nova Race), but these two lineups recovered a position at the end of the race when the BMW car was excluded. The Pole Piotr and Antonio Chodzen (Maserati Gran Turismo-SVC) retired early on due to a technical problem.
