Monza, race-1 to Abe-Colombo (Ferrari 488) as the GT4 title is secured by Riccitelli-De Castro (Porsche Cayman)

AF Corse pairing proceeded Veglia-Crestani and Comandini-Johansson, but the games are still on for the title. The GT4 victory went to Ghezzi-Camathias, while Lippi-Sernagiotto (Ferrari 458 Italia) won GT Light. Race two live on Raisport tomorrow.

The Japanese Ken Abe and Christian Colombo (Ferrari 488) won race-1 in the fourth and closing round of the Italian GT Championship Sprint that is underway at the Monza Eni Circuit. The AF Corse pairing proceeded the sister car driven by Veglia-Crestani (Easy Race) by 1”462 and the BMW M6 GT3 of Comandini-Johansson (BMW Team Italia) by 11”682. Considering the results to be discarded, this result currently sees Postiglione-Mul on top at 88 points. They lead Comandini-Johansson (80) and Agostini-Rovera (77). The overall title will be decided tomorrow in the closing race of the season.
The GT4 title has been awarded to Simone Riccitelli and Sabino De Castro (Porsche Cayman-Ebimotors) that ended second behind Ghezzi-Camathias (Porsche Cayman-Autorlando) and Piccioli-Pera. The victory in GT Light of Lippi-Sernagiotto (Ferrari 458 Italia-Iron Lynx-RAM Autoservice) made them celebrate in the best possible way the Italian title won in Mugello. This result allowed them to reach six wins in seven races, while the Lotus Exige V6 Cup R of D’Aste-Tarabini (PB Racing) made its debut in GT Cup.
Race-2 (50 minutes + 1 lap) will get underway tomorrow at 14 and will be covered live on TV by Raisport and in web streaming on www.raisport.rai.it, www.raiplay.it, www.acisport.it/CIGT and Facebook www.facebook.com/CIGranTurismo.


GT3: IT has been a tough race played on the tyre choices and difficult due to the changing conditions of the track, a lot of contacts and the safety car. The victory was eventyally secured by the Japanese Ken Abe and Christian Colombo, that got the most of the safety car deployment. AF Corsa drivers decided not to pit on the contrary to their rivals during the safety car and this allowed them to gain precious seconds on the rivals. The lineup managed to secure the win in their debut race in the Italian series and in AM. They led the sister car of Veglia-Crestani and the BMW M6 GT3 of Comandini-Johansson. Easy Race's drivers fought for the podium for a long time and ended their race close to the winners and ahead of the BMW Team Italia's drivers that, thanks to the 12 points secured in this way, are still in the fight for the title and are 8 points short of Postiglione-Mul and three ahead of Agostini-Rovera (Mercedes AMG GT3).
The Antonelli Motorsport lineup ended close to the podium proceeding Postiglione-Mul (Lamborghini Huracan-Imperiale Racing), Mann-Cressoni (Ferrari 488-AF Corse), that were the first of Pro-Am and Nicola Baldan (Mercedes AMG GT3-Antonelli Motorsport). Zug-Piana (BMW M6 GT3) were second in GT3 AM despite a puncture early on at the debut in the Italian series and were followed by Cuneo-Magnoni (Lamborghini Huracan-LP Racing) that won the AM title.
Perolini-Gersekowski (Lamborghini Huracan-Imperiale Racing) were unlucky as they run a strong race but in the closing laps spun and ended behind. Fuoco-Hudspeth (Ferrari 488-AF Corse) also had tough luck and were penalized by a problem to one tyre early on while the Italian was leading. The AF Corse lineup managed to secure the Pro-Am title nevertheless.
Out early the Audi R8 LMS of Fontana-Dromedari (Audi Sport Italia) was involved in an incident at turn one.


GT 4: Simone Riccitelli and Sabino De Castro (Porsche Cayman) claimed the GT4 title at the end of a wise race that saw Ebimotors drivers expliting well the first safety car delaying the driver change by one lap. At the flag, the drivers of the Italian team ended behind Ghezzi-Camathias (Porsche Cayman-Autorlando) and ahead of team-mates Piccioli-Pera. BMW Team Italia's Fascicolo-Guerra (BMW M4 GT4) were only seventh but are still in the fight for the title ahead of the grand finale of Monza. They ended behind the two Mercedes AMG GT4 of Marchetti Mantori and Magnoni-Garbelli (Nova Race) and the Porsche Cayman of Cerati-Chiesa. The eighth place went to Pajuranta-Rodrigues (Maserati Gran Turismo-V-Action), that led Baruchelli-Bravetti (Porsche 997-Autorlando) and D’aste-Tarabini, that were at the debut in GT Cup in the Lotus Exige V6 Cup R.
GT LIGHT: The new Italian champions of GT Light secured another win. Lippi-Sernagiotto (Ferrari 458 Italia-Iron Lynx/RAM Autoservice) proceeded in fact Mattia Michelotto (Lamborghini Huracan ST-Antonelli Motorsport) and team-mates Paolino-Jirik (Lamborghini Huracan ST).
