The Piero Taruffi circuit of Vallelunga is gearing up to host the Italian GT Endurance championship this coming weekend. After the races already held in Pergusa and Mugello, the endurance series is heading to the turning point of the 2021 season with a three-hour-long race that will be open to GT3, GT Cup and GT4 cars.

GT3: Amici-Di Folco-Middleton (Lamborghini Huracan) are the favourites in the highest class. After the victory in Mugello they lead the championship and will be joined in Vallelunga and by a sister car driven by Bottiroli-August-Jirik. The Imperiale Racing’s crew have a 2 points advantage on the Ferrari 488 GT3 Evo (Scuderia Baldini) of Fisichella-Gai-Zampieri, and 12 on Drudi-Ferrari-Agostini (Audi R8 LMS), that won the opener in Pergusa. Audi Sport Italia’s colors will also be defended by Salaquarda-Basz-Postiglione, while Ferrari will be represented by six cars, one of which will be driven by Carrie Schreiner and Antonio Fuoco, with Giorgio Roda, and one by their teammates at AF Corse Mann-Vilander. Kessel Racing will compete with PRO-AM classification leader from America Steve Earle, who will share driving duties in the 488 GT3 Evo with Niccolò Schirò. The RS Racing’s car will be driven by Di Amato-Vezzoni. At Easy Race Matteo Greco will find two new co-equipers in the 488 GT3 Evo: Daniel Mancinelli and the Austrian Max Hofer.

After the victory scored in Imola’s Sprint series, Jacopo Guidetti will drive the Honda NSX GT3 of Nova Race with Luca Magnoni, while Perolini-Veglia-Negro (Lamborghini Huracan-LP Racing) and Comandini-Zug-Spengler (BMW M6 GT3-Ceccato Racing) complete the entry list of GT3.

GT CUP-GT4: Thanks to the 20 points scored in Pergusa, Demarchi-Risitano-Barbolini (Ferrari 488 Challenge Evo) currently lead the GT Cup classification equal on points with Delacour-Sbirrazzuoli, that did not compete in Vallelunga. The SR&R drivers will be sided by teammates Becagli-Baratto (Ferrari 458 Challenge Evo), while the Lamborghini Huracan ST of Bonaldi Motorsport will be driven by Pavlovic-Fischbaum-Vairani. The BMW M4 of Ceccato Racing will be driven by the GT4 classification leaders Fascicolo-Neri-Nilsson.

PROGRAM and TV SCHEDULE: The third weekend of the Endurance series will kick off on Friday with two free practice sessions of 70 minutes each (at 10.50 and 16.10) and will continue with the third session of 50 minutes in length on Saturday. The three qualifying sessions to define the starting grid of the race will be on Saturday afternoon (from local 13.40 to 14.45). The race will get green lights on Sunday at 14.
