08/03/2012 – The entry list gets bigger and the await is mounting while teams and lineups are being defined ahead of the 35th Rally “Il Ciocco e Valle del Serchio” that will be the season opener of the Italian Rally Championship next 22 – 24 March. The event will be joined this year to the debuting Historic Rally “Il Ciocco e Valle del Serchio” .

While entries to the 35th Rally Il Ciocco e Valle del Serchio will be opened until next 15 March, CSAI decided to lift the surtax to late entries. This will avoid economic penalties to those teams that are still deciding their sportive programmes.

The await is mounting not only for the fight in the absolute Italian tittle but also for the Italian Junior title where the challenge will involve the best talents of the tricolored rally world.

Aside of the main race, this year gives birth to the historic rally Il Ciocco e Valle del Serchio, a chance for drivers and spectators to witness an incredible event. The second day, Saturday 24 March, will have historic challengers as protagonists on the scheduled seven stages (three runs of the spectacular stage Il Ciocco and two on Molazzana and Bagni di Lucca), summing up to a total of 75km timed out of the total 175km.
The start will be at 10.01 (local time, GMT+2) at Il Ciocco while the finish line will be drawn on the beautiful Porta Ariostea square in Castelnuovo Garfagnana.

The 35th Rally Il Ciocco e Valle del Serchio will also renew the charity initiative started last year connecting the race with ADMO (the Italian Association of Bone Marrow donors) and particularly with the very active Lucca's branch of ADMO (www.admo.it). In occasion of the rally a stand will be present next to sportive verification and service park where Lucca's ADMO volunteers will promote this important initiative.
