Rally Italia Sardegna 2014 to start the action from tomorrow on

The fourth act of the Italian Rally Championship, first on gravel, will take place alongside the WRC. Validity also for the Gravel Trophy. 29 drivers verified will set off tomorrow evening with the super stage "City of Cagliari".

All set for the eleventh edition of Rally Italia Sardegna, World Rally Championship race, valid also for the fourth round of the Italian Rally Championship, for the first round of the Gravel Trophy and valid also for the National Rally Trophy.

Tomorrow morning the 29 verified lineups will get busy with Shakedown in the zone of Putifigari, near Alghero, in the province of Sassari. They will go through a 3.5km sector from 8:00 to 10:00 local time.

The super stage "City of Cagliari" (1,30 km) will take place in the evening in the city harbour. The racers of the Italian Rally Championship and Gravel Trophy will set off at 20.00, that is one hour earlier than the WRC drivers.
CIR and Gravel Trophy (TRT) programmes will involve six stages out of the seventeen that make up the World Championship Rally, for a total of 140.23 km. The Sardinia's race will span a total of 655.74 kilometers, all on the very challenging and selective gravel, exception made for the "City of Cagliari” opening stage. CIR and TRT lineups will head back to Alghero for the night park ferme.

The drivers will go through the first sector on Friday 6 June, with four of the most classic stages after WRC drivers will have gone through them twice. These stages will be: "Terranova Nord" of 20 km, "Terranova Sud"of 12.40 km , "Coiluna – Castrazza" of 20.29 km and the fast "Loelle" of 27.30 km. The following day the race will start from Alghero at 7.20 as the racers in the Italian series will have to go through the final and very challenging stage "Monte Lerno" of 59,13 km. This is so far the longest stage on gravel of the whole WRC season. The podium will end the efforts of the interpreters of the Italian Rally in Alghero's Calata Sanità at 14.30.

The usual web streaming appointments will not go missing in Sardinia and will be available at acisportitalia.it and sportube.tv. The first event will be aired on Friday 6 June from 13:25, while the second will take place on Saturday 7 June early in the morning at 7:15, both from service park located in Alghero's Lungomare Garibaldi.
