Paolo Andreucci and Anna Andreussi, Peugeot 208 T16 R5, end on top day one of the 62nd Rallye Sanremo

The Tuscan of Peugeot confirmed his lead also in the Ronde. Basso,Ford Fiesta R5, ended second at 18''3. Third is Albertini,Peugeot 208 R5, at 1'07”9. Scandola,Skoda, slowed down by differential problems as Caldani retired.

Sanremo 10 April 2015.  Paolo Andreucci and Anna Andreussi, Peugeot 208 T16 R5 are on the lead of day one of the 62nd Rallye Sanremo. The Tuscan driver won five of the six stages scheduled including the challenging night Ronde of more than 45Km. The second place is currently held by Giandomenico Basso, GPL Ford Fiesta R5, with a 18"3 gap to the top, while Stefano Albertini, Peugeot 208 T16 R5 is third at 1'07"9. The long closing stage made some further selection and stripped Umberto Scandola, Skoda Fabia Super 2000 from any chance of winning the race as he was slowed down by the failure of the differntial. The stage also put Nicola Caldani, third in the first round of the championship on Ford Fiesta R5, off the race as he had to stop due to an incident. Caldani's retirement had been proceeded by that of Ciocco's winner Alessandro Perico due to the failure of the steering when he was fighting for the top.

In the Production title, Luca Rossetti on R3T is leading the pack, while Michele Tassone, Peugeot Rally Junior Team, is still setting the pace in Junior ahead of Damiano De Tommaso, both on Peugeot 208 R2.

Engines will switch back on this Saturday 11 April at 9:30 for the second and final leg that schedules the two stages of "Passo del Maro" and "Vignai", to be repeated twice. The finish line will welcome participants in Piazza Adolfo Rava at 18.30.
