Vallelunga, qualifying: Minì on wet, Bortoleto on dry

From Rain to Slick, the two qualifying sessions see the track conditions improve until passing, in the final minutes of the second session, from rain to conditions of slick tires

The first qualifying session on the Vallelunga racetrack takes place with overcast skies and a strong wind that helps dry the asphalt from the rain that fell during the night. In the most difficult conditions, Gabriele Minì does not seem satisfied with the 2020 title and scores the best time and pole of race 1 with 1'44.548, followed by Oliver Bearman (1'44.802), Kirill Smal (1'45.212), Francesco Pizzi (1 '45 .384) and Andrea Rosso (1'45.452).

The second session then continues with a wet track and Rain tires, with Jonny Edgar leading the standings until about 6 minutes from the end, when several drivers switch to Slick and the choice is spot on. And so among these Gabriel Bortoleto scores the pole of the second session with 1'39.187, followed by the always fast 2020 champion, Gabriele Minì (1'40.009), Filip Ugran (1'40.565) and Jonny Edgar, who perhaps pays for not having wanted to replace the tires (1'40.791). Only twentieth Pizzi, second in the championship and fighting for this position in particular with Beganovic (11th and 7th), Crawford (15th in both sessions), Rosso (5th and 25th) and Bortoleto (13th and 1°).
