The 'Cursa', the historic Targa Florio that AC Palermo and ACI, with the support of ACI Sport and ACI Storico, organize, alongside the rally, in quality of classic regularity race and important stage of the Campionato Italiano Grandi Eventi ACI Sport, has restarted this morning. Starting at 9:00 am the crews left again the Museo Storico dei Motori e dei Meccanismi del Sistema Museale di Palermo, institutional and logistic partner of Targa Florio 2020, to face the second day of competition. Opened by the reds of the Ferrari Tribute To Targa Florio, one by one the crews launched into the competition, which also today promises to be very fierce.

Yesterday's times gave the lead to Giovanni Moceri and Valeria Dicembre, with the FIAT 508C 1939 of Scuderia Targa Florio, but the top drivers are all there, Antonino Margiotta and Vincenzo Bertieri with the 1947 Volvo PV444, then the 1938 FIAT 508C by Angelo Accardo and Filippo Becchina, then the one of the Mafra team, the 1937 FIAT 508C by Mario Passanante and Enrico Di Mauro. However, there are still numerous tests to face in today's stage that will bring pilots and navigators between the iconic structures of Floriopoli with the stands of Cerda dominated by the panoramic tower.

“It is a great thrill to re-enact what the great drivers of the past did” comments Giovanni Moceri on today's route, demonstrating how even the most experienced drivers, who have traveled these roads many times over the years, can remain fascinated every time. "You breathe the air of sport, you breathe the air of motorsport" continues the Sicilian, then congratulating the organization for the efforts made to allow the smooth running of this year's event.

In this edition there are also foreign participations that further embellish the already rich fleet of the Targa Florio Classica 2020, among them the German crew consisting of Hagen Kruse and Frank Bittkow with a very special Riley 12/6 Gamecock from 1933, or the 1966 Alfa Romeo Giulia Super 1.6, owned by Swiss Guido Scassellati and the Luxembourgian Thomas Berns, originally belonging to the police state of which he still wears the colors and the siren.

The clash on the stopwatches of the official timeekeper Tag Heuer will therefore take place today from the Cerda stands towards the Circuito delle Madonie, Collesano, Campofelice di Roccella and then in the afternoon Sciara, Caccamo, Termini Imerese and the return to Palermo. This is the theater that today will engage cars of great historical value, such as the 1929 Lancia Lambda VIII Series, the oldest car in the race, by Olindo Deserti and Maurizio De Marco, or the 1965 FIAT Campagnola by Simone Rossetti and Marco Morao, of the ACI Global Servizi team, memory of the years at the service of motorists. In addition to being present with two crews in the race, ACI Global Servizi is also a sponsor of the event by providing transport services and ensuring safety on the route. Mission, that of safety, also shared by Sara Assicurazioni, present with its offers dedicated to owners of vintage cars. The sanitation of the cars is instead guaranteed by MAFRA, also sponsor of this edition, while Acqua Fiuggi, Chin8 Neri and Duca di Salaparuta participate as technical partners.
