16/07/2011 - Another pole marked Audi ended this time in Andrea Sonvico's hands who obtained the best laptime in qualifying 2 in 1´45.749 proceeding the Porsche GT3R (Autorlando) driven by Paolo Ruberti (1´46.187).

Behind them, the second Audi Sport Italy's car, driven by Alessandro Cicognani (1´46.562), who fought for the whole session against Sonvico and Ruberti, and the Lamborghini Gallardo (Team Imperiale) of Davide Stancheris, who was also the first of the GT Cup class drivers (1´48.491).

The fifth absolute time and second of the GT Cup, went to the classification leader Matteo Malucelli (Ferrari F 430-Scuderia 27-Baldini Mode), ahead of the Porsche RSR of GT2 class driven by Victor Coggiola (1´49.833).

Only eleventh was Michele Merendino, behind the wheel of the Corvette Z06, in 1´50.544. After the third absolute time set by his crew mate Davide Di Benedetto in the first session, a good result was awaited by the RC Motorsport/Sikelia driver but a problem with firing the engine of his car forced the Sicilian driver to start his session only in the final minutes and with an electronic configuration limiting the engine power.

Merendino will start from the sixth row of the grid, where he will find Fabrizio Giovanardi, at his first race in the tricolored GT with the Porsche 997 belonging to AB Racing prepared by Team Antonelli, that stopped watches in 1´50.711; the driver from Sassuolo focused his work to setting the car up for race one.

In GT4 Manuel Lasagni (Ginetta G 50-Nova Race) set the pole position in 1´56.369 and was followed by his team mate Belotti (1´57.308).

Race one will start this afternoon at 17.50 (local time, GMT+2) on the distance of 48 minutes + 1 lap.
