Nearly thirty teams already in the entry list of the 9th Italian GT Championship

07/04/2011 - The number of teams entered the Italian Grand Touring Championship, starting next 17 April in Vallelunga, reached the level of thirty and is still counting as new arrivals are due shortly in GT2 and GT3.
In the latter class, Porsche will defend 2010 title giving the performing GT3R to the crew Ruberti-Cordoni. Autorlando's drivers will have to face the two Audi R8 LMS lined up by Audi Sport Italy driven by "Dindo" Capello-Alessandro Cicognani and Marco Bonanomi-Andrea Sonvico.

A new record has been set in the GT Cup where, at the moment, eighteen teams will race. Porsche 997, will be lined up by several teams, among which Team Antonelli Motorsport with three entered cars, two given to Christian Passuti, sharing the drive with a mate to be decided and to Baccani-Bellini. GDL Racing renewed their participation in the tricolored GT Championship lining up a German coupè given to Mastronardi-Fornaroli, while Petricorse Motorsport, after just some races in 2010, is now ready to fight for the title with Tavano-Merendino, sided by Basov-Kruglyk and with a third 997 given to Paolo Necchi and, in some races not conflicting with the Carrera Cup Italy, to Postiglione-Frassineti.

The lining up is completed by the Porsche team ZRS Motorsport, giving the car to a Castellaneta-Formilli Fendi and AGR Motorsport with a 997 driven by Smurra-De Pasquale.

Remarkable is also Ferrari's participation with several F430 Cup ready to get on track. Two of these are going to be lined up by Scuderia La.Na with the crews Cerati-Garelli and Nattoni-Lanci, while Matteo Malucelli will make the comeback in the Italian GT with a Maranello's coupè defending the colors of Scuderia 27-Baldini Mode in crew with Flavio Pierleoni. The team will also line up another car driven by Bernasconi-Romagnoli, and will be sided by a F430 directly managed by Team Malucelli and driven by Marco Galassi in crew with a driver still to be decided.

In the historic duel between Ferrari and Porsche, after the positive debut in 2010, the Lamborghini Gallardo will find its place. The car from S. Agata Bolognese will be taken on track by the new Team Imperiale with the crew Sanna-Stancheris and by Mik Corse giving their cars to Piccini-Livio and Mamè-Zanardini.

The GT4 is also growing and currently sees seven entered crews. The color bearers of Nova Race, Pozzi- Cappelletti, Frazza-Maranelli and Lasagni-Cassera , those of Happy Racer Alberghino-Quaderno and Scuderia Costa Ovest's Mastrangelo-Milli will be involved in the minor class at the wheel of the Ginetta G 50.

The entry list is currently completed by Brambati-Donativi (Porsche Cayman-Antonelli Motorsport) and by a Porsche 997 belonging to Autorlando with a crew still to be decided.
