The second round of the Italian GT Championship on stage this weekend at the Misano World Circuit

01/06/2011 - 25 will be on track at the Misano World Circuit this weekend for the second round of the Italian Grand Touring 2011 Championship. After the good start in Vallelunga, the two races on the shore of the Adriatico saw more arrivals in all four classes, three of which (GT2, GT3 and GT Cup) awarding as many Italian titles.

In GT2, the Porsche RSR of the brothers Victor and Giovanni Coggiola, leading the class, will be joined by thee Ferrari F 430 lined up by Vittoria Competizioni and given to Ferdinando Geri and to a driver still to be decided, whole in the GT3, where the Audi R8 LMS of Bonanomi-Sonvico (Audi Sport Italia) is leading the way, the Corvette Z06 of RC Motorsport will make its debut with Michele Merendino and Davide Di Benedetto, already present in the GT Cup in Vallelunga with the Porsche 997 of Petricorse Motorsport.

Dindo Capello will not be at the wheel of the second official Audi R8 LMS as he is busy with the 24H of Le Mans tests; he will be replaced by the 24 years old driver Alberto Cola that will share the drive with the former karting driver Alessandro Cicognani. Paolo Ruberti will be back at the wheel of the Porsche GT3R lined up by Autorlando Paolo Ruberti, after Joel Camathias replaced him in Vallelunga due to conflicting commitments. The Italian driver will share the cockpit of the German coupe with Mario Cordoni.

In the very tight GT Cup the await mounts to verify the new technical configurations decided by Csai to balance the performances; the F430 Ferrari of the classification leaders Malucelli-Pierleoni (Scuderia 27-Baldini Mode) will have to face the attack moved by the Lamborghini Gallardo of the couple Sanna-Stancheris (Team Imperiale) and Piccini-Livio (Mik Corse) as well as those moved by all Porsche 997 led by the crew Passuti-Gagliardini (Antonelli Motorsport). Further arrivals were registered in this class too where such as those of Fabrizio De Monte (Porsche 997-M Racing) and Giuseppe Castellano (Porsche 997-AGR Motorsport).

New entries also in class GT4 where a couple of Ginetta G50 of Saggese-Emiliani (Scuderia Costa Ovest) and Cassera-De Lorenzi (Happy Racer) have to be added; Piero Foglio will be replacing Nicola Bianchet on the Ginetta G 50 of Nova Race at the side of Manuel Lasagni.

The programme of the second round of the season schedules qualifying for Saturday at 9.00 and 12.25 (local time, GMT+2). The races will be 48 minutes + 1 lap long and will start on Saturday at 18.50 and on Sunday at 16.10.
