The 12th edition of the Italian GT Championship is attracting drivers from outside the national borders. This morning the very young Portuguese driver Francisco Mora announced in fact the participation in the Italian series. He will be competing in class GT3 in all seven rounds of the season behind the wheel of the Mercedes SLS run by the Portuguese team Sport & You.

Mora, 18 years of age from Oporto, comes from Formula Renault ALPS where he has been competing last year after a couple of seasons spent in karting. The Portuguese rookie will race alone in the two races of Misano to take place this coming weekend, but in all the other rounds he will be sharing the cockpit of his car with a second driver.

"In Misano we are going to announce the name of the driver to complete our lineup from the second race of Monza on – the team principal of the Portuguese team Paolo Ferreira commented. We will partake in all the rounds of the season, but all the International commitments prevented us from defining Francisco's co-equiper before”.

The arrival of Sport & You increased to two the number of Mercedes cars present in the championship. Alongside the Portuguese SLS, the twin sister run by GDL Racing will be driven by Giovanna Amati and Gianluca De Lorenzi.
