The Italian Grand Touring Championship as the setting of a movie on racing cars

Fandango production chose the Italian GT as setting for a movie directed by Matteo Rovere starring Stefano Accorsi.

Shooting of "Italian Race" -- this is the provisional title -- the movie on racing cars produced by Domenico Procacci for Fandango and Raicinema, with the direction of Matteo Rovere and starring Stefano Accorsi, will begin this summer.

Fandango produced several movies among which "Radiofreccia", "L'Ultimo Bacio", Velocità Massima", "Gomorra" and "Smetto Quando Voglio". In this occasion it will set several scenes of the movie within some rounds of the Italian ACI-CSAI 2014 GT Championship, involving the real teams during the racing weekends.

The movie talks about Giulia Di Martino, a young promising driver that due to a family bereavement has to manage the whole team with the only help of her brother Loris, former rally driver sunk into oblivion. Their adventure will take place on several fronts, starting from the ITalian GT Championship to the preparation of private cars in an exciting crescendo. A chain of funny but also tragic events the two will learn how to face their demons understanding the meaning of being a family.
