The Lamborghini Gallardos have been unbeatable in Vallelunga so far. The first race of both classes of the 5th round of the Italian GT Championship was in fact won by the cars from Sant'Agata Bolognese.

In GT3, Giacomo Barri and Mirko Bortolotti repeated the win secured in the previous round held at Paul Ricard, proceeding the two Ferraris 458 Italia of Lucchini-Segal (BMS-Scuderia Italia) and of Casè-Giammaria (Scuderia Baldini 27).

The fourth place went to Beretta-Carboni (Porsche GT3R-Autorlando), who led the Audi R8 LMS (Audi Sport Italia) of Capello-Zonzini and the two Ferraris 458 Italia of Malucelli-Frassineti (Team Malucelli) and Balzan-Benucci (MP1 Corse). The top ten was completed by Mapelli-Schoeffler (Audi R8 LMS), Magli-Ferrara (Ferrari 458 Italia-Easy race) and Donativi-Gagliardini (Porsche GT3R-Ebimotors).

Lamborghini claimed the victory also in GT Cup with Mancinelli-Goldstein (Eurotech Engineering), that proceeded the Porsche 997 of Galbiati-Passuti (Antonelli Motorsport) and the sister car driven by Tempesta-Iacone (Bonaldi Motorsport).

Race two is scheduled for tomorrow at local 14,50. Live coverage on TV on Raisport2 (freeview and SKY), while the webstreaming will be available at www.acisportitalia.it/GT.

Race-1 as it happened: Poleman Giammaria got the lead at the start, with Barri, Balzan, Segal, Beretta, Ferrara and Gagliardini following him in order, while Mancinelli led the pack of GT Cup proceeding Passuti and Maestri.

An unleashed Balzan managed to take Barri during the first lap and kept his momentum chasing Giammaria, but the driver from Rome was good to keep that advantage that did not offer the toe to the rival. From the back of the grid, Malucelli was gaining several positions but touched slightly Romani forcing him to the retirement, as Ferrara gained P6 from Gagliardini.

The fight for the third position of GT Cup got inflamed at lap 9 with a battle involving Maestri and Tempesta. Bonaldi Motorsport's driver managed to find his way past the home hero after a good duel and installed himself behind Mancinelli and Passuti.

The drivers change window opened at lap 13 and Lucchini – who replaced Segal – found himself at the lead proceeding Casè, who took Giammaria's wheel, and Bortolotti, who got Barri's car.

Bortolotti started chasing Casè first, managing to get past him at lap 23, and then Lucchini whom he took at lap 25 getting the lead of the race in doing so. In GT Cup Galbiati, who replaced Passuti, had hard time fending off Goldstein, while Iacone proceeded Zanardini and Zampieri in third.

Once in the lead, Bortolotti started pulling away from Lucchini gaining a two seconds margin on Lucchini and five on Casè. Carboni was fourth and proceeded Benucci, Zonzini, Frassineti, Mapelli and Magli, who had slipped down to P8 due to a spin at lap 19.

Goldstein overtook Galbiati at lap 28 getting therefore the lead of GT Cup, while Zonzini secured the fifth place from Benucci at the following lap. MP1 Corse's driver had to concede his position also to Frassineti in the last lap as the latter completed his good comeback race.

At the flag, Bortolotti took his second win of the season ahead of Lucchini, Casè, Carboni and Zonzini, who was a great fifth after a first stint of Capello affected by electric issues to the gearbox. Frassineti followed in sixth proceeding Benucci, Mapelli, Magli and Donativi, while Goldstein, who was 11th absolute, got the win in GT Cup ahead of Galbiati and Iacone.
