Daniel Mancinelli and Andrea Fontana, at the wheel of the Ferrari 488 GT3, won the first race of the second round of the Italian GT Championship at the French circuit Paul Ricard. Easy Race’s pairing led the Lamborghini Huracans of Antonelli Motorsport driven by Veglia-Vedel (+6”153) and Zampieri-Altoè (+7”075). In the other categories, the victory went to Nova Race’s Magnoni-Garbelli on Audi R8 LMS ultra in GT3 Light and on Ginetta G55 in GT4, while Pisani-Sauto (Porsche 997-Siliprandi Racing) got on the top step of the podium in GT Cup. In the provisional classification of GT3, Fisichella and Gai keep the lead at 40 points, Veglia and Vedel follow (35) and proceed Baruch (32), Zampieri and Altoè (31), Fassler (25), Palma and Barri (23).

Race-2 is scheduled for tomorrow at 14,30 and will enjoy live TV coverage on Raisport, on the Facebook web page of the championship and in live streaming at www.acisport.it/CIGT.

Race-1: Easy Race’s pairing Mancinelli-Fontana secured a well-deserved win that came at the end of a race led from lights to flag after posting the pole position in the first session. Mancinelli fended off Altoè very well in the first stint, while Barri behind them was busy to keep Barauch at bay. After the driver’s change, Fontana kept the lead from Palma, who took over from Barri, while Altoè’s co-equiper Zampieri slipped down to third after serving the time handicap.

Thanks also to the fight involving Palma and Zampieri behind him, Fontana did not have problems to keep the lead and cross the finish line on top, awarding Easy Race with the first win of the season leading Veglia-Vedel. Antonelli Motorsport’s pairing, after the good result scored in Imola, confirmed itself on top at Paul Ricard, thanks to the young Dane and an unleashed Veglia who recovered several positions in his stint, ending his performance with a good overtaking move on Palma. Zampieri-Altoè ended on the third step of the podium, a result that was secured in the closing stages, when the Antonelli Motorsport driver had the best of Palma and co-equiper Barri at the end of a duel that last for the whole second stint. Behind the Petri Corse Motorsport lineup, Audi Sport Italia’s pairing Bar Baruch and Benoit Treluyer, led Fisichella-Gai (Ferrari 488-Scuderia Baldini 27), that started from the last row of the grid due to the problem to the turbo they experienced in qualifying, and Mezard-Hiesse (Lamborghini Huracan-SVC Sport Mangement), that were at their first race in the Italian series. The eighth place went to Pisani-Sauto (Porsche 997-Siliprandi Racing), that were the first of GT Cup and had the best in the single make configuration class, of Merendino-Di Benedetto (Porsche 991-Island Motorsport), proceeding the Audi R8 LMS (GT3 Light) of Magnoni-Garbelli, as the latter were the first of GT4 due to a penalty following an irregular driver’s change of their teammates Marchetti-Kauppi (Ginetta G55-Nova Race).
