RACE-2 CLASSIFICATION

GT3: “This victory is for Stuart”. These are the first words of Alberto Di Folco after getting on the top step of race-2’s podium at the end of a difficult race that saw two safety cars being deployed and a FCY. The victory of the Italian driver, who came eighth in race-1, is good news for Imperiale Racing, which is hoping for a prompt comeback of the British driver at the next round in Misano on June 5th.

After being second for the whole first stint behind the poleman Glock, Di Folco took on the lead after the pit stop proceeding Klingmann, who had to serve the 15s handicap time following the victory in race-1. The first stint was then neutralized by a safety car and an FCY, but the first part of the race saw several nice battles like that fought by Gai who recovered from P8 to P3 in one lap, and that of Patrinicola, who started from the final row of the grid due to a technical problem in qualifying but then recovered 25 places.

In the second stint, despite a safety car voided all the gaps, Di Folco managed to fend off Klingmann, ending his effort ahead of the BMW driver and Galbiati-Cressoni, that lost their place first to Guidetti-Moncini (Honda NSX GT3) but were then reinstated due to a 5s time penalty handed to the Nova Race crew due to track limits.

Stefano Gai and Nelson Panciatici (Ferrari 488 GT3 Evo-Scuderia Baldini) closed at the feet of the podium, as the French driver managed to defend himself from teammate Di Amato, who was fifth with the Argentine Urcera, and led Guidetti-Moncini, that slipped down to P6 due to a penalty.

GT3 PRO-AM was won by Cecotto-Di Giusto, that were seventh overall in the Lamborghini Huracan GT3 run by LP. They headed Butti-Patrinicola, eighth in the Audi R8 LMS-Audi Sport Italia and winners of the GT3 AM at the end of a splendid comeback race started from P39. The top ten was rounded off by Agostini-Vebster (Ferrari 488 GT3-Easy Race), ninth after the 5s penalty for an irregular start, and Rappange-Pesce, that were tenth in the Mercedes AMG GT3 of Antonelli Motorsport. The winners of race-1 in GT3 PRO-AM Greco-Guerra went out on lap 12 due to an incident at the Roggia chicane that also involved teammates Magnoni-Lippi (Honda NSX GT3).

GT CUP/GT4: After the victory of the Lamborghini in race-1, on Sunday Porsche bounced back with the 991 GT3 Cup of KMS driven by Gattuso-Mainetti. The Krypton Motorsport pairing run a wise race; the young Mainetti managed to stay close to the front runners in the first stint, while Gattuso took the lead and crossed the finish line ahead of the Colombian Mendez (Lamborghini Huracan ST-Bonaldi Motorsport), Mazzola-Coluccio (Ferrari 488 Challenge-Easy Race) and race-1 winners Barri-Scalvini (Lamborghini Huracan ST-Team Italy).

The successful day of Krypton Motorsport was completed by the victory of Tazio Pieri in GT Cup-AM. He led Tabacchi-Bronzini (EF Racing) and Di Leo-Poppy (AB Motorsport), all on Porsche 991 GT3 Cup. Pavlovic-Fishbaum had to retire due to an incident at the Roggia chicane in the first stint when the Serbian driver of Bonaldi Motorsport was leading the pack. The all-women crew Linossi-Piria (Tsunami RT) went out due to a flawless off that also caused contact with the Lamborghini of Attianese, while Berton-Bontempelli, had to stop due to a technical issue.

After the victory in race-1, Marchetti-Schjerpen (Mercedes AMG-Nova Race) got again on the top step of the GT4 podium leading the Porsche Cayman of Cerati-Fondi (Autorlando) and the teammates Ferri-Bencivenni.
