The fifth round of the Italian ACI Karting Championship ended in Sarno with great spectacle and excellent numbers

The Italian OK title went to Alfio Andrea Spina and that of OKJ to the Russian Kirill Dzitiev. Splendid wins also in the other seven categories on track in Sarno.

Sarno (Salerno), June 20, 2021. The fifth round of the Italian ACI Karting Championship ended on a high, with a lot of races that characterized this exciting summer event at the International Circuit Napoli in Sarno (Salerno). This round featured important numbers as 290 drivers made it onto the track out of the nearly 300 entered from 36 different countries. The 9 entitled categories – 60 Mini, MINI Gr.3, OK, OK-Junior, X30 Junior, X30 Senior, KZN Junior, KZN Under, KZN Over – run 18 finals, 29 qualifying heats and 4 second chance races.

Spina and Dzitiev are the new Italian Champions of OK and OKJ.
The event has been valid as the single-round Italian championship for OK and OK-Junior. The Italian ACI Karting OK Championship was won by the Sicilian driver Alfio Andrea Spina, on Parolin-TM fielded by Parolin Motorsport, while the OK-Junior title went to the Russian Kirill Dzitiev, on KR-Iame run by Team Driver. Also on the podium of OK were Valerio Rinicella (Parolin Motorsport/Parolin-TM) and the Russian Artem Severiukhin (Ward Racing/Tony Kart-Vortex), while Cristian Bertuca (BirelART-TM) was fourth after a 10s time penalty that stripped him of the victory in the prefinal. The second and third place of OKJ went to the Russian drivers of Ward Racing, Maximilian Popov and Kostantin Keapin.

60 Mini to Giusto and Sulpizio.
In race-1 of 60 Mini Giacomo Giusto (Revolution/Energy-TM) claimed the victory from Nico Carfagna (CMT/Parolin-TM) and Edoardo Mario Sulpizio (TK Kart/EKS-TM), while classification leader Gino Rocchio (Team Driver/KR-TM) was fourth. Edoardo Mario Sulpizio had the upper hand in race-2 instead, while Gabriel Mabilia (T Motorsport/Parolin-TM) was second and Nico Carfagna third. The same drivers got on the podium of the Under 10 classification.

Costoya and Orjuela shared the victories in MINI Gr.3.
The Spanish driver Christian Costoya secured a great win in race-1 of MINI Gr.3, which was the most crowded category with 77 drivers. Costoya proceeded classification leader from Czech Republic Jindrich Pesl (BabyRace/Parolin-Iame) and Ukrainian Yaremy Oleksiy (Formula K Serafini/IPK-TM), who tried to repeat the victory in race-2, but without being successful. In race-2 his teammate from Colombia Matias Orjuela, had the upper hand pipping a rather disappointed Costoya by 0.052s. In race-2 Jindrich Pesl was third.

X30 Junior to Pavan in race-1 and Marenghi in race-2.
Sebastiano Pavan (Team Driver/KR-Iame) managed to win from the Dutch René Lammers (BabyRace/Parolin-Iame) in X30 Junior’s race-1 at the end of a great recovery race, while the third place went to Pavan’s teammate Antonio Apicella. In race-2 Team Driver locked out the podium with Francesco Marenghi victorious and proceeding teammates Sebastiano Pavan and Matteo De Palo in the order.

Carenini and Scognamiglio great interpreters in X30 Senior.
In X30 Senior classification leader Danny Carenini (Autoeuropeo/Tony Kart-Iame) claimed a good victory in race-1 leading Manuel Scognamiglio (Gamoto/Tony Kart-Iame) and Jacopo Giuseppe Cimenes (CMT/Tony Kart-Iame), while race-2 went to Manuel Scognamiglio who led Jacopo Giuseppe Cimenes and Vincenzo Scarpetta (Team Driver/KR-Iame). Carenini was fourth this time around.

David wins KZN Junior’s race-1, Pelosi race-2.
In KZN Junior the first final was won by the Sicilian Gandolfo David (Intrepid-TM) who was at the debut and proceeded Marco Settimo (GM Motorsport/BirelART-TM) and Denis Tuia (VZata/BirelART-TM). Leonardo Pelosi (Maranello-TM) won race-2 after the victory scored in Val Vibrata. Gandolfo David was second and Federico Fasano (TK Kart/TK-TM) third.

Good wins to Piccioni and Tilloca in KZN Under.
In KZN Under Antonio Piccioni (TK Kart/TK-TM) secured a good win a the end of a duel with Emanuele Simonetti (Parolin-TM), while Alessandro Cavina (SC Performance/Tony Kart-Vortex) lagged a bit behind and was third. Luca Tilloca (BirelART-TM) came to the fore in race-2 claiming the win from Antonio Piccioni and Irnerio Cittadini (BirelART-TM), who inherited P3 when Emanuele Simonetti was handed a penalty.

Profico leads KZN Over wining race-1. Feola wins race-2.
In KZN Over Roberto Profico (SC Performance/Tony Kart-TM) confirmed to be the leader of the category repeating the win claimed in Val Vibrata. Profico proceeded Andrea Spagni (Modena Kart/BirelART-TM) and Pasquale Feola (BirelART-TM) in race-1. Pasquale Feola had the upper hand from Sebastiano De Matteo to Cristian Griggio (Drake/KR-TM) in race-2.
