The second race of Campionato Italiano Sport Prototipi at the ACI Racing Weekend Vallelunga was the usual show to which the Wolf Racing Cars have now accustomed us in the early season events. Victory came for Giacomo Pollini, who quickly solved the set-up problems that had kept him behind in race 1 and tightened his grip on the Championship. His sprint at the start brought him from P4 into the lead of the race.

Second to pass under the chequered flag is Matteo Roccadelli, after a certainly not easy race that also saw him involved in a collision with Matteo Pollini, he wins the position over Davide Uboldi taking advantage of a gearbox problem that slows down the otherwise unstoppable driver from Como. Roccadelli then receives a 25’’ penalty, for the race incident with Matteo Pollini and slipped into P10. Davide Uboldi then moves up to P2, also taking second place in the drivers' classification after the round. To him also the fastest lap in the race with 1'35.389. Third is Erik Stilmann, the Swede, already fourth in race 1, finally sees his fortunes change in a Championship that had so far been unlucky for him.

Fourth in race 2 is Emil Hellberg, author of an excellent race, right from the start. Behind came the Colombian Molina, who put a stop to the climb of the Sicilian driver Alessio Salvaggio, in P6. Salvaggio started from the back due to his stop in race 1. However, his retirement in the first race of the day was not due to a technical problem, as it might initially have seemed, but to the action of some safety sensors. Sensors connected to the control unit inhibit the accelerator pedal from being pressed at the same time as the brake pedal. This safety system, which went into action for the first time in race 1 at Vallelunga, is a technological innovation that complies with the FIA safety regulations and can significantly reduce accidents, but can sometimes be detrimental to the habits of drivers with a background in karting. The Sicilian has the worst of it in the duel with the Colombian, but can certainly be happy in a good overall placing. Behind him comes Andrea Mosca, who loses his pole position at the start of the race, but enters the track battles well and still finishes into the points. Linus Hellberg, Emil's brother, finished 8th, followed by Santiago Mejia, author of an exciting duel with Salvaggio.

In addition to the retirement of Matteo Pollini, after the race accident with Roccadelli, which takes away from the race one of the main contenders already in the first lap, Filippo Lazzaroni (P2 in race 1) does not finish either, forced to run off the track to avoid being involved in the contact, slightly pushed by one of the car. He later rejoins, but then the stop came with eight laps completed. Among the retired also the Frenchman Steve Brooks, who made a very heated race, battling on the track also with Joe Castellano, in a battle between Masters, his Wolf goes out at the Cimini turn.

Giacomo Pollini: "This weekend we struggled a lot with the hot weather. We almost never managed to find the right set-up, apart from the last race. This win was well needed. I made a good start, I got out in front straight away. I set my pace, I could manage and get away from the others and I finished first. It was needed for the Championship, these are good points, let's hope to continue like this in the next ones. This afternoon the track was really hot and really slow, it seems we found a pretty good setup. Mugello is obviously a different track, we will try to work there too, we will start from a good base, hopefully it will be good right away."

Davide Uboldi: "the same problem I had in race 1, I was in neutral for even longer. It was a shame because it was at the moment when I was going to attack Pollini and also the fact that I did the fastest lap testifies to the potential I had. This time the mechanical problem had me, but we will solve it." Then, already thinking about Mugello, he recalls "last year I had two victories, but the competition is fierce, the guys are strong, fast, good. You have to live it day by day, session by session."

The classification after round 3: 1. G. Pollini, 103 pt; 2. Uboldi, 69 pt; 3. Roccadelli 54. pt; 4. M. Pollini, 42 pt; 5. Lazzaroni, 41 pt; 6. Medina, 27 pt; 7. Stilmann, 22 pts; 8. Salvaggio, 22 pts; 9. Emil Hellberg, 19 pts; 10. Simon Hulten, 18 pts.
