If the morning saw the Formula Regional drivers try their best on a wet Imola track and therefore with rain tires, in the afternoon the track, albeit still wet, saw the talents of the series organized by ACI Sport and FIA certified enter the track with slick tires.

In the first session Arthur Leclerc (Prema Powerteam) is the fastest with 1: 57.521, followed by Dennis Hauger (Van Amersfoort Racing) who is at his second round of the championship after the last race in Barcelona, where he was immediately very fast, and stops the stopwatch on 1: 58.542. Third Oliver Rasmussen, Leclerc's teammate, with 1: 58.545, just 3 thousandths from second place. The championship leader, Gianluca Petecof, is delayed in sixth position with 1: 59.326.

In the second session on dry track, Leclerc is unfortunately stopped by a gearbox problem that does not even allow him to enter the track, so Hauger takes advantage of it and scores the best time in 1:46.222, while behind him Ian Rodriguez (DR Formula by RP Motorsport) is immediately fast with 1: 46.653. Third again Oliver Rasmussen with 1: 46.661. Gianluca Petecof still lagging behind, eighth with some technical problems with the car.
