The second round of the Italian GT Endurance Championship is about to get underway. Twenty cars will get on track from Friday at the Mugello Circuit after the season opener at Pergusa for the three-hour race that will mark the turning point of season 2021 of the series featuring cars in the three classes GT3, GT CUP and GT4.

GT3: The entry list of the biggest class is quite long and includes Audi Sport Italia’s, Drudi-Agostini-Ferrari, that won the opening race in Pergusa and that will be sided by teammates Salaquarda-Basz-Postiglione. The latter are ready to bounce back after the unlucky exit to Sicily.

Nine Ferrari 488 GT3 Evo will be present, among which the two of Iron Lynx, the team that is back in the Italian series and that will field Schiavoni-Piccini-Mastronardi and a women lineup featuring Frey-Bovy-Haigh. AF Corse will field two 488 GT3 Evo for Schreiner-Hudpeth-Fuoco and Mann-Cressoni, Kessel Racing will do the same with Earle-Perel-Schirò that are leading GT3 PRO-AM and Fumanelli-Cuhadaroglu.

Scuderia Baldini will field one 488 GT3 Evo for Fisichella-Gai-Zampieri, which were on the second step of the podium in Sicily, while Easy Race will line up Greco-Crestani-Filippi, which came to the fore in Pergusa but sadly ended their race early due to a technical issue. Daniele Di Amato will debut in the Endurance series after the solid performance and race-1 victory in the Sprint series in Misano. He will share the 488 GT3 Evo of RS Racing with his traditional co-equiper Alessandro Vezzoni.

Two Lamborghini Huracan have been entered: one by Imperiale Racing for Amici-Di Folco-Middleton, which came third in the season’s opener, and one by LP Racing for Perolini-Veglia-Negro, while Nova Race will field one Honda NSX GT3 for Zanotti-Magnoni.

The entry list of GT3 will be completed by the BMW M6 of Ceccato Racing, a car that is particularly at ease on the up and down hills of Tuscany with Comandini-Zug-Spengler behind the wheel. The trio had to retire due to an incident in Pergusa, but claimed the pole position and led the race during the first stint.

GT CUP/GT4: New entries joined also GT Cup, the class that hosts cars in a single-make configuration that has four crews at the start. Next to the Ferrari 488 Challenge driven by current classification leaders Demarchi-Risitano-Barbolini, SR&R will field a Ferrari 458 Challenge for Becagli-Baratto-Vinella, while AF Corse will make its debut in GT Cup with a 488 Challenge driven by Sbirazzuoli-Delacour. One Lamborghini Huracan will be fielded by Team Italy, that will make Edo Varini debut in this season with co-equipers Ermanno Dionisio and Giacomo Barri, and one BMW M4 will be lined up by Ceccato Racing for GT4 classification leaders Fascicolo-Neri-Nilsson,.

PROGRAM and TV SCHEDULE: The 2nd weekend of the Endurance series in Mugello will begin with two free practice sessions on Friday of one hour each (at 11.40 and 16.30) and will continue on Saturday with the third session, also of one hour, at 9. The three qualifying sessions will get underway in the afternoon from 13.55. Each session will last 15 minutes (live TV coverage on ACISPORT TV - SKY 228), while the three-hour race will start on Sunday at 14:00 with live coverage on ACISPORT TV (SKY 228) and all the social platforms of the championship.
