Pergusa, Beretta-Liberati-Nemoto (Lamborghini Huracan GT3) take the pole position in the 1st round of the Italian GT Endurance Championship

A the end of three hard-fought qualifying sessions, the VSR drivers posted the best overall time ahead of teammates Basz-Hites-Michelotto. In GT Cup Coluccio-Mazzola (Ferrari 488 Challenge) were uncatchable. The 2 hours-long race will begin tomorrow at 13 and will be shown live on ACI Sport TV and recorded on Raisport and on all the social platforms of the championship.

The three qualifying sessions of the Pergusa’s round of the Italian GT Championship have been dominated by the Lamborghini Huracan GT3 and specifically by those of Vincenzo Sospiri Racing (VSR). The sessions have been hard-fought and the sum of the times decided the starting grid of the race: Beretta-Liberati-Nemoto claimed the pole position in 4’46.200s, proceeding teammates Basz-Hites-Michelotto (4’47.158s) that will complete the front row of the grid tomorrow.

The Honda NSX (Nova Race) of Moncini-Guidetti-Cabezas will occupy the second-row thanks to the overall time of 4’47.679s and will have the BMW M4 GT3 (BMW Italia-Ceccato Racing Team) of Comandini-Fascicolo-Nilsson (4’48.608s) starting next to them. Behind them, Coluccio-Mazzola were the first in GT Cup and posted the fifth overall time (4’48.967s) in the Ferrari 488 Challenge of Easy Race. They will share the row with the third Huracan of VSR driven by Cola-Moulin (4’50.020s).

The fourth row will be occupied by the two Mercedes AMG GT3 of Antonelli Motorsport driven by Scholze-Galbiati (4’50.022s) and Pesce-Rappange (4’52.661). They will line up ahead of the second Honda NSX Nova Race of Magnoni-Di Fabio (4’52.716s) and the Ferrari 458 Challenge (Best Lap) which is second among the GT Cup cars and driven by Donno-Risitano-Menichini (4’55.850s).

The starting grid of the first race of the season sees the Porsche 991 GT3 Cup Gen II of Gattuso-Mainetti-Riva (Krypton Motorsport) in the sixth row (4’58.552s) next to the Ferrari 488 Challenge (SR&R) of Buttarelli-Cossu-Bacci (5’00.195s). Locanto-Rodio-Pezzucchi (Porsche 991 GT3 Cup Gen II) will follow them with a time of 5’06.265s and Pavlovic-Fishbaum-Vairani (Lamborghini Huracan ST-Bonaldi Motorsport) that posted a 5’10.330s.

The starting grid will be completed by Becagli-Castillo Ruiz-La Mazza (Lamborghini Huracan ST-Team Italy) and Bozzoni-Del Monte (Lamborghini Huracan ST-Team Lazarus) in the eighth row, while “Aramis”-Baratto-Pennisi (Ferrari 458 Challenge-SR&R) and Pijl-Guzman (Lamborghini Huracan) will form the ninth row with the Imperiale Racing’s lineup not completing the third qualifying session due to an incident.

Postiglione-Agostini-Patrese (Ferrari 488 GT3 Evo-Easy Race) and the two home heroes Davide Di Benedetto and Giuseppe Nicolosi with Davide Cazzaniga (Porsche 991 GT3 Cup Gen II-Krypton Motorsport) will not compete tomorrow due to some technical issues to their cars that cannot be solved.

The two-hour race will get the green lights tomorrow at 13 and will be covered live on TV by ACI SPORT TV (SKY 228) and will be recorded on RAISPORT at 23.45.
