The grand finale of the Italian GT Sprint Championship, which Monza is about to host this coming weekend, is marked by a confirmation of the record number of participants already set in the second round at Imola. There will be 55 crews on the Monza circuit taking part in the two scheduled races that will award 12 Italian titles in the GT3 and GT Cup classes.

GT3: Just one point separates the leaders of the standings, Delli Guanti-Mazzola (Audi R8 LMS-Tresor/Audi Sport Italia) from the reigning champion, the German Jens Klingmann (BMW M4 GT3-BMW Italia/Cecccato Racing Team), who in the two races on the fast track can count on the help of his new co-driver, BMW M Works Driver Raffaele Marciello, who will replace Max Hesse engaged in a concurrent race in the USA.

Considering the 44 points still to be awarded, among the chasers those who will have some chance to fight for the title are Michelotto-Stadsbader (Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo2-VSR), 15 points behind the top and supported by their teammates, Cazzaniga-Frassineti and Moulin-Zanon, while with the second M4 GT3, Malvestiti-Ebrahim will be at the start, now one step away from the GT3 PRO-AM title.

Supporting Delli Guanti-Mazzola in the race for the title will be their teammates Cola-Moncini, who will also have to deal with the six Ferraris entered in the final round of the season, including the 296 GT3 of the Japanese Hoshino-Hama (JBR), making their debut in the Italian series, who will join the twin cars of Di Amato-Boguslavskiy and Ferati-Nurmi (AF Corse), Trulli-Bontempelli (Easy Race), Marazzi-Buttarelli (Rossocorsa Racing) and the 488 GT3 Evo 2020 of Colavita-Maggi (Double TT Racing).

The Lamborghini squad will be completed by the cars of Imperiale Racing of Fascicolo-Tarabini and Bartholomew-Denes and the Huracan of Iron Lynx, a team returning to the Italian GT, entrusted to the Bulgarians Bostandjiev-Lefterov, while the Honda colours will be brought to the track by Team Nova Race which will field three NSX GT3 for Jelmini-Berto, Scarpetta-Simonini and the leader of the GT3 AM, Massimo Ciglia, who will share the car with Luca Magnoni.

There will be two Porsche GT3 R present at Monza, that of Ebimotors driven by Venerosi-Baccani and that of EF Racing by Fulgenzi-Muller. There will be as many Mercedes AMG GT3 fielded by Antonelli Motorsport for McIntosh-McGee, in the running for the GT3 AM title, and for Marco Antonelli, the patron of the Bolognese team, who returns to racing after a year's absence. At the same time, an Aston Martin Vantage GT3 will be put on the track by L&A Infinity for Di Giusto-Alatalo.

GT Cup: The final round of the season will host 31 GT Cup class cars belonging to the two Divisions which have all the classifications still open. In the PRO-AM 1st Division it will be a photo finish race for the title between Zanon-Tribaudini (VSR) with a three-point advantage over cousins Giacomo and Matteo Pollini (Giacomo Race), both crews on Lamborghini Huracan ST Evo2, but to make things difficult for the third could be Patrinicola-Pegoraro (Ferrari 488 Challenge Evo-Best Lap), even if they are 38 points behind the top. Bucci-Croccolino and Naldi-Simonelli will also represent the Best Lap colours in the AM. At the same time, the other Maranello red cars will be brought to the track by Easy Race for Pierantoni-Di Fabio, by Double TT Racing for the Belgian Renmans, Mertel Motosport for Lovati-Liquorish, by AF Corse for Casè-Borelli and by Pinetti Motorsport for Giovanni Stefanin and Briselli-Tucci.

The Lamborghini squad will be joined by the Huracans of DL Racing by Mainetti-Segù, the Egyptian Badawi and Dalokay-Tagliapietra, as well as those of HC Racing by Clementi Pisani-Randazzo and the leader of the AM classification, Ferdinando D'Auria and co-equiper Gaetano Oliva. Also at the start of the last two races of the season will be the Lambos of Messina-Martinez (MM Motorsport), Niskanen-Kosic (Lema Racing), Luciano Privitelio (Villorba Corse), Forenzi-Barbolini (Invictus Corse) and Carminati-Pellegrini (CRM Motorsport).

The favourites for the 2nd Division reserved for the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup in the PRO-AM are Palma-Navatta (Raptor Engineering), leader of the provisional classification with a twenty-point advantage over Pisani-Zerbi (SP Racing), a team that fields three other cars for Bugliotti-Rodriguez, Fabiani-Zanini and Abbati-Grisi, while in the AM Polverini-Liana (ZRS Motorsport) lead with a 12-point advantage over Ivan Jacoma (Centri Porsche Ticino). Two cars will be fielded by EFR for William Mezzetti and Van der Sloot-Costa, while Speed Lover will be in the game with the Belgians Meulders-Renmans.

PROGRAM AND TV: The last weekend of the Sprint series will open on Friday with the two free practice sessions (from 11.20 to 15.20 and from 15.20 to 16.50), followed on Saturday by the two qualifying sessions separate for each class (from 10.10 to 11.30). Race-1 GT3 will start on Saturday afternoon at 16.45 followed by the GT Cup race at 17.55, while race-2 of both classes will be held on Sunday at 14.20 (GT3) and at 16.40 GT Cup).
