The 2024 Italian GT Sprint Championship concludes with a bang at Monza, as BMW Italia-Ceccato Racing Team drivers Jens Klingmann and Raffaele Marciello claim their second victory of the weekend.

Having secured the overall GT3 title yesterday, the German driver and his new co-driver repeated their success today, leading the race for all 50 minutes plus one lap despite a 15-second time penalty incurred during the driver change. At the checkered flag, the BMW crew finished ahead of the Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo 2 of Frassineti-Cazzaniga (VSR) and the sister car of teammates Malvestiti-Ebrahim, champions of the GT3 PRO-AM class. The GT3 AM class title, still up for grabs in Race 2, was won by Americans Glenn McGee and Anthony McIntosh (Mercedes AMG GT3-Antonelli Motorsport).

With the conclusion of the respective race, won by Patrinicola-Pegoraro (Ferrari 488 Challenge Evo-Best Lap), all the GT Cup classifications were also finalized. This class is reserved for single-make configuration cars, with Zanon-Tribaudini (Lamborghini Huracan ST Evo2-VSR) taking the PRO-AM 1st Division title, Casè-Borelli (Ferrari 488 Challenge Evo2-AF Corse) winning the AM 1st Division, Palma-Navatta (Porsche 992 GT3 Cup-Raptor Engineering) claiming the PRO-AM 2nd Division and Polverini-Liana (Porsche 992 GT3 Cup-ZRS) winning the AM 2nd Division.

GT3: It was the perfect conclusion to a fantastic weekend for Klingmann-Marciello, with a Race 2 victory despite having already clinched the title yesterday and carrying a 15-second time penalty. A race led from the very first meters, without errors, smoothly and with a great team, BMW Italia-Ceccato Racing Team, as a backdrop to an unforgettable season, further embellished by the GT3 PRO-AM title won by the second crew, Malvestiti-Ebrahim.

Opponents were unable to match the superiority demonstrated on the track by the BMW drivers and the M4 GT3, who ultimately won with a nearly four-second advantage over Frassineti-Cazzaniga. The VSR crew could have aspired to a closer fight for the top step of the podium if it weren't for Cazzaniga's early mistake, however, the season of the Vincenzo Sospiri Racing team can be considered positive. At the finish line, all the other crews were further behind, starting with Malvestiti-Ebrahim, who started from sixth on the grid and finished ahead of Bostandjiev-Lefterov, making their debut in the Italian series with the Iron Lynx Lamborghini, and the Audi R8 LMS of Mazzola-Delli Guanti.

The Tresor-Audi Sport Italia crew was fighting for the podium in the final stages, but an electrical problem relegated them to fifth position, however, enough to secure second place in the championship ahead of Michelotto-Stadsbader (VSR), who finished eighth behind the Ferrari 296 GT3 of Di Amato-Mosca (AF Corse) and the Huracan of Denes-Bartholomew (Imperiale Racing). The top ten of Race 2 was completed by the ninth-placed Jelmini-Berto (Honda NSX GT3-Nova Race) and the tenth-placed Di Giusto-Alatalo (Aston Martin Vantage GT3-L&A Infinity), the latter long battling for podium positions.

GT CUP: The GT Cup race, reserved for single-make configuration cars, offered a certain level of competitiveness, as the Italian titles for both divisions were still up for grabs. Patrinicola-Pegoraro deservedly climbed to the podium's top step, dominating from the very beginning. Starting from pole position, the Sicilian driver immediately set a very fast pace, handing over the Best Lap 488 to Pegoraro with a large safety margin. The Lazio driver had to control the situation, and nothing changed despite the entry of two safety cars, winning the race which was prematurely stopped on the 21st lap with the red flag due to a multiple-car incident at the second restart.

At the checkered flag, the Team Best Lap crew finished ahead of the twin car of Double TT Racing, entrusted to the Belgian Renmans, who had put in an excellent performance since the qualifying sessions, where he had set the second fastest time, while the Lamborghini Huracan ST Evo2 completed the podium in the colours of DL Racing for the Egyptian Badawi, who recovered from ninth on the grid. At the foot of the podium, Martinez-Messina (Lamborghini Huracan ST Evo2-MM Motorsport) finished ahead of the twin car of Invictus Corse, making its debut in the Sprint series with Barbolini-Forenzi, the Ferrari 488 Challenge Evo2 (Mertel Motorsport) of Lovati-Liquorish, and the Huracan of HC Racing for Clementi Pisani-Randazzo.

Finishing eighth overall and first in the Pro-AM 2nd Division were Navatta-Palma, a result that allowed them to win the Italian title, finishing the race ahead of Pellegrini-Carminati (Lamborghini Huracan ST Evo2-CRM Motorsport) and the 488 Challenge Evo2 of Di Fabio-Pierantoni (Easy Race).

With a fifth place in the AM 1st Division, Casè-Borelli became champions of the subclass, also involved in the battle at Turn 1, which eliminated, among others, Oliva, Zanon, and Bucci who were fighting for a podium position.

With third place in the AM 2nd Division, the race which was won by Ivan Jacoma (Centri Porsche Ticino) ahead of Costa-Van Der Sloot (EFR), Polverini-Liana (ZRS) won the respective subclass title.
