The first stage has started

The approximately 100 cars of the Targa Florio Classica left this morning at 9:00 am from the Museo dei Motori e dei Meccanismi del Sistema Museale dell’Università di Palermo. The reds of the Ferrari Tribute to Targa Florio started first with the 1999 Ferrari 360 Modena of Angelo Pizzuto, accompanied by Susanna Serri, President of AC Palermo who with ACI and the support of ACI Sport and ACI Storico organizes this very important Sicilian classic regularity competition.

The classic Targa Florio Classica cars set off below, opened by the 1937 Fiat 508 C of Mario Passanante, driving for the MAFRA team, winner of the last edition, sailed by Enrico Di Mauro. Then the two 1938 508 C of Angelo Accardo sailed by Filippo Becchina and Giovanni Moceri and Valeria Dicembre, the 1947 Volvo PV444 of Antonino Margiotta and Vincenzo Bertieri. Then the 1966 Porsche 911T of Himara Bottini and Carlo Di Giusto, running with the Tag Heuer insignia, closed for the top drivers. The other crews then continued to alternate, also for the Targa Florio Legend and Targa Florio Gran Turismo rankings.

Today's route will lead the crews to discover the Sicilian beauties, towards Trapani, then Marsala with stamp control at the Cantine Florio del Duca di Salaparuta, also technical partner of the competition together with Acqua Fiuggi and Chin8 Neri, then Campobello di Mazara, the cradle of regular racing that gave birth to several champions in the race. From here Castelvetrano, Partanna, Santa Ninfa, to continue climbing towards Alcamo, Borgetto, and Altofonte for the return to Palermo, again to the square of the Museo dei Motori e dei Meccanismi del Sistema Museale dell’Università di Palermo to conclude the first day of competition.
