Red Bull Ring: Sonvico-Capello (Audi R8 LMS ultra) win race-2

Audi Sport Italia's color bearers proceeded Mancini-Lancieri (Ferrari 458 Italia) and Balzan-Barri (Porsche GT3R)

05/08/2012 - Andrea Sonvico and Dindo Capello (Audi R8 LMS ultra) obtained a stunning victory absolute and of class GT3 at the end of a tight battle in the second race of the 4th round of the Italian GT championship.

The success has been widely deserved by the lineup of Audi Sport Italia that got it during the last lap when they proceeded the Ferrari 458 Italia (Easy Race) driven by Mancini-Lancieri, second at only 62 hundreds and the Porsche GT3R (Ebimotors) of Balzan-Barri, third at 1"50.

Bad luck instead for Biagi-Colombo (BMW Z4-ROAL Motorsport), that were victim of the heat of the start and had to retire during the first lap; Comandini-Fornaroli (Ferrari 458 Italia-Vita4One Team Italy), had to retire in the final stages of the race due to an electric problem when they were fighting for the podium.

Tight race also in the other classes. In GT2 Rocca-Romanini (Ferrari 458 Italia-Black Team) repeated the win obtained yesterday ahead of the Porsche RSR of the brothers Giovanni and Victor Coggiola, while in GT Cup 1st division the reigning champions Sanna-Stancheris (Lamborghini Gallardo-Imperiale Racing) were back to the victory ahead of Cicognani-Granzotto (Porsche 997-Antonelli Motorsport) and Kruglyk-Tsyplakov (Ferrari 458 Italia-MU Motorsport). The success in the second division went to Bellini-Donativi (Porsche 997-Antonelli Motorsport).

In the GT3 classification Andrea Sonvico got the lead at 100 points leading his team mates Frassineti and Di Benedetto (91), Biagi, Colombo (87) and Barri, Balzan (84).

In the Ginetta Cup, Merendino-Pillitteri (Rangoni Motorsport) ended on top and were followed by Cressoni-Coppi (Nova Race) and Frazza-Garbelli (Nova Race), all on Ginetta G50.
