Imola, 39 cars at the start of the 3rd round of the Italian GT Championship

The two races at the circuit of Santerno are much awaited as the Lamborghini Gallardo are ready to defend their classification lead in GT3 and GT Cup. Live TV coverage of the two races on AutomotoTV and Raisport1.

All is set at the circuit of Imola for the 3rd round of the Italian GT Championship that will be held next weekend.

A total of 39 cars will make it to the track at the Enzo e Dino Ferrari circuit, among which the Lamborghini Gallardo of Bortolotti-Viberti, that is leading the charts of GT3 after the nice victory obtained in Monza. Imperiale Racing's drivers will have to fend off the attacks moved by Casé-Gattuso (Scuderia Baldini 27) and Schirò Berton (Villorba Corse), on the 458 Italia, that follow 14 points short in the standings.

Regarding Ferrari, AF Corse will be back to the Italian championship and will line up Lathouras-Rugolo (Ferrari 458 Italia) in Imola, as the other Ferrari's cars will be driven by Magli-Ferrara (Easy Race), Mugelli-Di Amato (MP1 Corse), Lucchini-Venturi (BMS-Scuderia Italia), Frassineti-Beretta e Cipriani-Tedeschi (Ombra Racing), Galassi-Rizzuto (Team Malucelli) and Gai-Bontempelli ( Sport Garage).

Three Porsche GT3R will compete instead. The one lined up by Ebimotors will be driven by Postiglione-Donativi, that of Autorlando by Camathias-Calamia, while Pezzucchi-Romani will defend the colors of Krypton Motorsport.

Francesco Sini on Corvette Z06 run by Solaris Motorsport will be sided by the new entry Marcello Puglisi, while the Portuguese team Sports & You, will line up Mora-Wright and a second Mercedes SLS AMG to be driven by Coimbra-Silva

The McLaren MP412C of Biagi-Francioni and Mancinelli Geri (Racing Studios) will try to get the first success of the season in Imola, as the BMW Z4 of Comandini-Gagliardini (ROAL Motorsport), a car that particularly suits the up-down hills of this circuit.

Two are the Audi R8 LMS that will go through the 4.909 meters of the Enzo e Dino Ferrari circuit. They will be lined up by Audi Sport Italia for Capello-Zonzini and Mapelli-Amici, while the second Lamborghini Gallardo fielded by Imperiale Racing will have Fabio Babini and Andrea Ceccato behind the wheel.

In GT Cup, the challenge will continue between Lamborghini and Porsche. The Gallardo of Zanardini-Perel (Bonaldi Motorsport) proceeds the two 997 of Maino-Selva (Ebimotors) and that of the brothers Luca and Nicola Pastorelli (Krypton Motorsport), but the Ferrari 458 Italia of Caso-Del Prete (Scuderia Victoria) could place itself in the fight for the top step of the podium after the race-2 victory scored in Monza.

The entry list of GT Cup is rounded up by the Porsche 997 of Passuti-Goldstein (Antonelli Motorsport), Venerosi-Baccani and Spezzapria-Piccioli (Ebimotors), Matteo and Federico Zangari (Ghinzani-Arco Motorsport), Bodega-De Castro (Drive Technology Italia) and by that of the new entry Di Leo-"Poppy".

Alongside the Lamborghini Gallardo of the classification leaders, three further cars will be driven by Durante-Comi, Bianco-Monfardini (Imperiale Racing) and Carboni-Valori (Eurotech Engineering), while the second 458 Italia to compete in the class of the single branded cars will be driven by Renato Di Amato (Sport Made in Italy).

Finally, two Lamborghinis will take part in the Huracan Cup: that of the Antonelli Motorsport driven by Massimo Mantovani and the one run by Raton Racing and driven by Tanca-Zaugg.

The programme of the weekend schedules two qualifying sessions on Saturday (from local 9,25hrs to 10,35hrs). Race-1 will follow at 15,20hrs with live coverage on AutomotoTV (SKY 148). Race-2, will start on Sunday morning at 11 with live TV coverage on Raispor1 ( freeview 57, SKY 227). Both races will also be available through live streaming at www.acisportitalia.it/GT.
