The Italian GT Championship resumes on a high. The second round of the season will kick off on Saturday at the Enzo e Dino Ferrari circuit with a great 41 cars entered in what is announced to be a very exciting weekend.

SUPER GT3: the ten lineups present in Monza will also be present at the circuit on the Santerno benches in the class reserved to the newly homologated cars. The Ferrari 488 GT3 of Venturi-Gai is leading the provisional classification, but Bortolotti-Mul (Lamborghini Huracan-Imperiale Racing) and Mapelli-Albuquerque (Audi R8 LMS-Audi Sport Italia) certainly have what is needed to challenge the Black Bull Racing's lineup. The other lineups present in Imola will certainly have their say starting from Lamborghini's Agostini-Di Folco (Antonelli Motorsport), Pezzucchi-Venturini (Imperiale Racing) and Frassineti-Gattuso (Ombra Racing), Sini-Mugelli (Aston Martin Vantage-Solaris Motorsport), Linossi-Bontempelli (Nissan GT-R-Drive Technology Italia), Geri-Mancinelli (Ferrari 488 GT3-Easy Race) and Comandini-Cerqui (BMW M6 GT3-BMW Team Italia).

GT3: New important arrivals characterize this class. The Audi R8 LMS (Audi Sport Italia) driven by Emanuele Zonzini and by the Argentine Matias Russo will be back as the Lamborghini Gallardo of Imperiale Racing to be given to Postiglione-Gagliardini. The provisional leaders, Luca and Nicola Pastorelli (Porsche GT3R-Krypton Motorsport), will have two further rivals in their 2016 title campaign alongside all the protagonists of the weekend of Monza: Monfardini-Valori (Lamborghini Gallardo-Cars Engineering), Venerosi-Baccani (Porsche GT3R-Ebimotors) and Marco Galassi (Ferrari 458 Italia-Team Malucelli). The lineup Leo-Cheever (Ferrari 458 Italia-Scuderia Baldini 27), will be all set for a counter-charge in Imola, as they were penalized by an incident in Monza's race-1 that ended their weekend.

SUPER GT CUP: Croce-Costa will get to Imola as the main contenders in the class housing the brand new Lamborghini Huracans, strong with their 27 points and with race-1 victory in Monza under their belt. The Vincenzo Sospiri Racing's drivers will have to face the challenge of team mates Baruch-Liang, of Antonelli Motorsport's Galbiati-Sartori, Mantovani-Alessandri, Desideri-Negra and Magli-Casè and that of the two lineups fielded by Raton Racing, Tanca-Comi and Zaugg-D'Amico. The entry list of Super GT Cup will be completed by the splendid winners of a wet race-2 in Monza Necchi-De Lorenzi (GDL Racing) and by Davide Roda, who will take the Huracan run by Petri Corse to the debut.

GT CUP: Thanks to an haul of two wins in Monza, Benvenuti-Demarchi (Lamborghini Gallardo) will be the ones to be beaten in Imola in the single branded class. The Imperiale Racing lineup will have to face the Porsche 997 of Ebimotors driven by Maino-Benucci and by Carlo and Lino Curti and the Ferrari 458 Italia of Sauto-Zanardini and Romani-Deodati (Duell Race). Del Prete-Caso (Ferrari 458 Italia-Scuderia Victoria) and the new entry Di Leo-"Poppy" on Porsche 997 run by Team Vago will also be present.

CAYMAN TROPHY: The Cayman Trophy will kick off in Imola. The Porsche trophy run on the Cayman GT4 Sportclub will have seven cars belonging to five teams at the start. Ebimotors will field two Cayman, one for Riccardo Pera and one for Piccioli-Iannotta, Kinetic Racing Team will do the same handing their challengers to Nicola Neri and to the pairing Paparelli-Spiridinov. A car each will be lined up by CVG Motorsport with Federico and Matteo Zangari at the wheel, Krypton Motorsport with Bianco-De Castro and Dinamic Motorsport with Mercatali-Cecotto.

THE PROGRAMME: The second racing weekend of the season schedules two qualifying sessions on Saturday (from local 8.55 to 10,15), while race-1 S.GT3-GT3 will start at 15 and race-1 S.GT Cup-GT Cup at 17.
