28/08/2011 - In KF2 Vigorito gets back the lead with 4 advantage points to Santilli, forced to the retirement in the second final. Cold shower for Federer disqualified after the victory in KZ2: the title will be decided in the last round in Ortona.

Racing spectacle and twists characterized the fifth round of the Italian CSAI Karting Championship held in Sant'Egidio alla Vibrata. With 161 drivers on track in the five categories of this penultimate round of the tricolored series organized on the Karting track Val Vibrata, the epilogue of this hot weekend saw the first Italian title awarded to Federico Pezzolla (Intrepid-Tm) in KF3, despite the young driver having a not easy weekend.
Another Italian title was awarded in 60 Baby in the only national race reserved to children aged between 8 and 9. The young Samuele Narciso, 8 years old from Matera, won the race and title on Intrepid-Lke.

The KF3 was dominated by Mattia Vita (Birel-Bmb) in the first final after a recover from the 15th place and Antonio Fuoco (Tony Kart-Vortex) in final two, but the title went to Federico Pezzolla as the latter obtained the necessary points to win the title one raec early (15th and 10th his results of the weekend).
In race 1 the English Ilott Callum on Zanardi-Parilla was the runner-up and made record the fastest lap of the race.
Second position in the championship for Lorenzo Paggi (Tony kart-Tm), author of a third place in race two behind the Norwegian Oystein Helgheim (Parolin-Tm), while Luca Corberi (Tony Kart-Vortex) slipped down into third two points shy Paggi, despite two good races worth a sixth and fifth place.

In KZ2 the double twist of the day: first the local driver Daniele Delli Compagni (CRG-Tm) was disqualified after the first final due to an irregularity in the cooling liquid (he was third) and then the classification leader Fabian Federer (CRG-TM) ruler of the second final was disqualified due to an irregularity in the radiator height (58cm instead of the 50cm imposed by regulations). Federer was celebrating the title one race early when he had this cold shower.
Final one welcomed the win of Alessandro Bressan (CKR-Tm) after a good fight with Alessandro Fabiani (CRG-Tm) second, while in the second final Federer has been the main protagonist keeping the lead from the early stages, followed by Marco Pizzuti (Birel-Tm) and by the CKR couple made by Alessandro Bressan and Marco Zanchetta. Federer's disqualification promoted Pizzuti to the victory of the race.

Another twist in KF2, where the final one was won by the classification leader Alessio Santilli (Intrepid-Tm) after a good recover from the ninth place of the grid, while his main rival Gianni Vigorito (Birel-Bmb) was down in the field due to an incident with a rival. In final two Santilli had to retire due to a technical problem while Vigorito had a solid win after a thrilling recover awarding him with the championship lead as well even with just 4 points of advantage to Santilli. Third in the championship is now Marco Moretti (Maranello-Tm), second in both races. On race two podium was Alberto Di Folco, that from this race moved to team Formula K.

The 60 Mini witnessed the first victory of a Japanese driver in race one as Ryuta Ueda (Birel-Lke) got the success in his second participation in the Italian Championship. The second final went to the Romanian Marcu Dionisios (Top Kart-Lke) leading Alessandro Stura (Top kart-Parilla). "Alex" Irlando (Tony Kart-Lke) had the best of the Swiss Gjergj Haxhiu (CRG/Hero-Lke) in the fight for the third place.
Fifth was Remigio Garofano (Top kart-Lke) who, thanks to this result, was crowned with the category title (reserved to drivers with Italian licence) one race early.

In the 60 Baby final the two other positions of the podium, after that obtained by the winner and new Italian Champion Samuele Narciso (Intrepid-Lke) went to Armandino Musto (Top Kart-Parilla) and Giuseppe Fusco (Parolin-Vortex), after an exciting fight.

The next and final round of the Italian CSAI Karting championship is scheduled for next 2 October in Ortona (Chieti) at the International Circuit of Abruzzo.
