02/10/2011 - The last round of the Italian CSAI Karting Championship at the International Circuit of Abruzzo awarded all the emotions promised at the eve of this appointment. The two finals for each category have been followed with good participation and especially the finals of KZ2 and KF2 that were crucial for the title fight. At the end, in KZ2 the new Italian Champion is Fabian Federer who brought to success his CRG-Tm after winning the European title in this season and ending third in the World Championship. Federer's life in this championship had not been easy though.

In final one, Federer was involved in an incident after the start with his main rival, Alessandro Bressan (Ckr-Tm) and the latter had the worst as his chassis was quite damaged on that corner. Federer managed to get back on track in eighth and started his recovery until getting close to the fugitive Matteo Massatani (CRG-Tm) that kept anyway his lead until the flag. At the finish line, Massatani ended with Federer in his slipstream while the third place went to Alessandro Giulietti (Tony Kart-Vortex). Bressan continued as he could and finished tenth, with the mathematics still giving him a chance for the championship.
In the final two Federer got the lead since the beginning and was followed by Mirko Torsellini (CRG-Maxter), but the latter had to quit the race halfway through as the chain of his kart went off the gears when he was in Federer's slipstream. Bressan was promoted second from third but could not get closer to Federer due also to the second chassis not being as efficient in terms of setup. Federer finished then with another win and the title. Third on the podium was Alessandro Fabiani (CRG-Tm).

The two finals of KF2 were even more thrilling. In final one, the classification leader Gianni Vigorito (Birel-Bmb) won ahead of a surprising Marco Moretti (Tony Kart-Tm) who, thanks to this result got back in the list of the title contenders, together with Alessio Santilli (Intrepid-Tm), third in this final.
In final two, the lead of the race was taken by Marco Moretti, while Vigorito was fourth and Santilli second. The twist arrived at lap 4 when Andrea Moretti (Tony Kart-Tm), Marco's brother, literally flew over Vigorito at the third corner. Vigorito had to retire while Moretti managed to end with a good victory ahead of Alessio Santilli (Intrepid-Tm) and Roberto Manduchi (Parolin-Tm). Thanks to the second place, Santilli managed therefore to overtake quite just Vigorito with a margin of only 2 points. Marco Moretti ended third, 14 points behind the leader.

In KF3 the title was already in Federico Pezzolla's hands (Intrepid-Tm) since the race in Val Vibrata, and the victory in the two finals went to Alessio Lorandi (Tony Kart-Vortex) and Mattia Vita (Birel-Bmb), while Pezzolla ended third in both finals strenghtening his classification lead. The two finals were anyway very tight and full of position swaps.

The second place in race one and the victory in race two allowed Mattia Vita to place himself in second position of the final classification of KF3, ahead of Lorenzo Paggi (Tony Kart-Tm) that ended third thanks to two placings in the two finals (sixth place in race-1 and fourth in race-2). Luca Corberi (Tony Kart-Vortex) slipped down in the fourth position of the classification due to a retirement in race one and an eleventh place in race 2.

In 60 Mini the Romanian Marcu Dionisios (Top Kart-Lke) obtained another triumph winning both finals. The title was already in Remigio Garofano's hands (Top Kart-Lke) since last race but the new champion was forced to the retirement in the second final due to a technical problem. In the first final Dionisios won and was followed by Alex Machado (Birel-Lke) and Luigi Angelillo (Top kart-Parilla), while in the second the two other steps of the podium were occupied by Leonardo Lorandi (Tony Kart-Lke) second after a good duel with the Turkish driver Besler Berkay (Top Kart-Lke).
