173 drivers in the entry list of the first round of the new Italian CSAI Karting Championship starting next 3 April in Sarno

31/03/2011 - 173 drivers entered the first round of the Italian CSAI Karting Championship, scheduled for this weekend at the International Circuit Napoli of Sarno. This shows the good success of the tricolored season opening that will be followed by 5 other rounds in Jesolo (8 May), Viterbo (3 July), Lonato (7 August), Sant´Egidio alla Vibrata (28 August) and Ortona (2 October).

In detail, 53 drivers will be racing in the category KZ2, in KF2, 45 in KF3 and 36 in 60 Mini.
Among the last minute entries we can find the Italian ruling champion Nicola Nolè (CRG) , racing in KZ2 and Alessio Santilli (Intrepid) in KF2, with the two raising the bar in terms of quality of enteresd drivers.
In the season opener, Italy will be the most represented country with 150 drivers, while the remaining 23 drivers come from 15 different countries (Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Germany, Great Britain, Holland, Norway, Poland, Romania, Russia, Singapore, Slovenia, Turkey, Ukraine).

The event will benefit from TV coverage on Italian networks with live broadcast as well as highlights on motor-sports programmes.

The weekend's programme will start with free practice on Thursday 31 March for all categories. The second session of free practice will follow on Friday 1 April starting from 8.30 (local time, GMT+2); official free practice are scheduled from 12.00 while qualifying from 15.35.
Qualifying heats are on programme for Saturday 2 April; repechage and final-1 races for all categories are scheduled for Sunday 3 April starting from 11.25 while final-2 (with live TV coverage) will start at 15.25.

The money prize of the Italian CSAI Karting championship is worth 60.000 euros plus what awarded by CSAI in partnership with Ferrari: the most deserving driver (aged between 14 and 15) will win a first level stage at the “Ferrari Driver Academy”.
