04/05/2011 - Free practice scheduled for Thursday 5 May will open the second round of the Italian CSAI Karting Championship this Thursday 5 May on the Pista Azzurra of Jesolo. Races on Sunday will have Italian live TV coverage and highlights will be available too.

As usual, 4 categories will be on track with all the strongest Italian drivers ready to battle on the 1.045 meters of the historic circuit that this year celebrates the 50th Anniversary. After the first race held in Sarno, in KZ2 Antonio Piccioni (Parolin-Tm) is on top of the classification thanks to the good victory obtained at the International Circuit Napoli, but the driver for team Formula K in Jesolo will have to fight with a lot of rivals aiming to the success such as Fabian Federer (CRG-Tm), on the spotlight in the first race, his team mate Francesco Celenta, who is well motivated to get the podium incredibly missed in Sarno. Marco Zanchetta driving for team CKR and the Belgian Yannick De Brabander, Piccioni's team mate and winner of the first final, will certainly be among the protagonists.

In KF2 the favours of the eve are for the local driver Nicola Marcon (Tony Kart-Vortex), winner of the second final in Sarno and current classification leader. The young and fast Gianni Vigorito (Birel-Bmb) is also awaited for a good performance as the two major protagonists of the past championship: the Italian reigning champion Alessio Santilli (Intrepid-Tm) and Riccardo Cinti (Parolin-Tm).

In category KF3, that in Sarno awarded spectators with one of the best and most thirlling races of the recent years, Federico Pezzolla (Intrepid-Tm) leads the classification after his hat-trick in the first round of the championship. It will anyway be worth keeping an eye on Luca Corberi (Tony Kart-Vortex), the Canadian Lance Stroll (Zanardi-Parilla) and Antonio D´Angelo (Pcr-Parilla), that are all showing good progress and have been protagonists in the qualification of the European CIK-FIA Championship.

The smallest 60 Mini category will involve the usual group of young promising drivers, with a classification currently led by Remigio Garofano (Top Kart-Lke), but the good brothers Leonardo and Alessio Lorandi of the Baby Race will also get on track in Jesolo as will do the young drivers of Birel Motorsport among which the very strong Russian Alexander Zhirkov and Robert Shwartzman.

The results of all the races will be updated live, in collaboration with the Italian Chronometrists Federation, on the website www.acisportitalia.it that will also contain all the information including results, classifications, press releases, movies and pictures of the event.
