A lot of protagonists and spectacular races enlivened the 2nd round of the Italian CSAI-Karting Championship in Val Vibrata.

KF2 victory to the French Darras in race 1, to the British driver Ilott in race 2. Double success for Florescu in KF3. Wins to Spinelli and Simonetti in KZ2, double victory for Fusco in 60 Mini while Roccadelli and Macaluso got the first wins in Formula 60.

First class spectacle in the Italian CSAI Karting Championship during the second round of the season that saw 177 drivers on track, setting a new record in the three years of management of the championship by CSAI and ACI Sport. A good result that was also completed by the quality of the drivers present, among which about twenty foreign drivers that showed their talent especially in KF2 and KF3.

One of the main themes of this round was also the debut of the new Formula 60 ACI/CSAI Karting, with 15 children aged between 8 and 10 on track that started this "all inclusive rent” project organized by Birel, that was the winner of the tender in collaboration with ACI-CSAI and ACI Sport. Present in this first round also Birel's President Ronni Sala and marketing Director Marco Angeletti.

KF2. The first race of the day saw KF2 drivers on track and the first Final was deservely won by the French Julien Darras (Tony Kart-Tm), who already was under the spotlight in Sarno. Darras proceeded Marco Moretti (Kosmic-Tm) and Marco Maestranzi (Top Kart-Tm), while the British Callum Ilott (Zanardi-Tm) ended fourth ahead of Andrea Moretti. Darras got the lead after a good duel with Francesco Iacovacci (Tony Kart-Tm), as the latter started from the pole but was forced to an early retirement due to the engine failure.

In the second Final, with top 8 grid inversion, Julien Darras got the worst of the heat of the start as he went off at turn one. The lead was obtained by the Briton Ilott, who solidly kept it until the flag. The second place of the podium went to Alessio Santilli (Tony Kart-Vortex), back on the podium after a long absence from racing. The third place went again to Marco Maestranzi. The two Moretti brothers were fourth – Marco – and fifth Andrea. Iacovacci had to retire due to an incident in the last lap while holding the eighth position after a recovery from the 30th place.

KF3. Good races also in KF3. The monopoly of the top spot of the podium was by the Romanian Petru Florescu (Tony Kart-Vortex), at his first race in the category in the Italian Championship. In the first Final Florescu proceeded Alessio Lorandi (Tony Kart-Parilla), repeating the duel for the victory with the Italian driver in the second Final, despite both drivers starting to the back due to the grid inversion. Florescu obtained a double victory and Lorandi two second places but enough for the time being to keep the classification lead. Third of race-1 was Lorenzo Giannoni (Tony Kart-Tm), Remigio Garofano (Tony Kart-Lke) got the third place of the podium in race two. Giuliano Alesi, son of Ferrari F1 Champion Jean Alesi, competed in this race with the colors of team Baby Race and produced two good races, ended with the 17th and 16th place.

KZ2. The two races of KZ2 were exciting as usual. In the first Final the win was obtained by Loris Spinelli (Tony Kart-Vortex) who proceeded Massimo Dante (Maranello-Tm) and Francesco Celenta (Energy-Tm). Federico Pezzolla (Intrepid-Tm), winner of the second Final of Sarno had to renounce to a good result as he had an incident with Alberto Di Folco (CRG-Tm) during the last lap when the two were holding the fourth and fifth position. The second Final was won by Emanuele Simonetti (Top Kart-Tm), who got the most out of the grid inversion managing the initial advantage. The second place went to Marco Pastacaldi (Birel-Tm) after a good recover while Massimo Dante was back to the podium in third. Spinelli ended fourth ahead of Celenta. Good performance for the very young Luca Drudi (Maranello-Tm), fourth in race-1 and sixth in race-2.

60 MINI. The 60 Mini, saw 55 drivers on track, with the day ruler Giuseppe Fusco (Lenzo-Lke), winning both Finals. In race-1 Fusco proceeded the Malaysia's driver Mussyaffa Abdul Muizzuddin (CRG/Hero-Lke) and Leonardo Marseglia (Top Kart-Parilla), while in the second Final he was on the podium with Nicola Abrusci (Tony Kart-Lke) and Massimo Chinelli (Top Kart-Lke).

FORMULA 60 ACI-CSAI. Good races in the two debut Finals of Formula 60 ACI-CSAI, the three-rounds Italian Championship reserved to children aged between 8 and 10 on single-brand karts Birel-Bmb. The first Final was won by Matteo Roccadelli from Leonardo Bizzotto to Etienne Linty, while the satisfaction of the victory went to Santo Macaluso in the second Final. Etienne Linty was second and Luca Giardelli third. Roccadelli followed in fourth.

The next round of the Championship is scheduled for 28 July at the Circuit of Siena di Castelnuovo Berardenga.
