The drivers present in Lonato's fourth round of the Italian CSAI Karting Championship sum up to 172. This is definitely a good number that keeps figures high after the first three rounds held in Sarno (150), Sant'Egidio (177) and Siena (181), confirming therefore a very positive trend for this edition of the Italian Championship.

In Lonato the 60 will be again the most crowded category with 50 drivers, KF3 follows with 47, then KZ2 with 33, KF2 with 28 and the newborn Formula 60 ACI/CSAI will see the usual 14 drivers on track.

The attention in KZ2 is on the debut in the category of the French champion Dorian Boccolacci (Energy-Tm), who will use this round to train ahead of the forthcoming round of the World Championship in Varennes. Boccolacci, KF champion this year in WSK Euro Series and WSK Master Series, showed a good speed also in KZ2 where surprisingly he set the second time in free practice being just 151 thousands shy of the provisional poleman and classification leader Massimo Dante (Maranello-Kart). In KZ2 the quickest time of the day has been set in the first session by the young Mattia Drudi (Maranello-Tm).

In KF2 Diego Bertonelli (Zanardi-Tm) has been under the spotlight so far as he set the quickest time in the first session posting a 43"374, while in the second session Marco Moretti (Kosmic-Tm) topped the charts in a 43"505. Classification leader Julien Darras (Tony Kart-Tm) hit a bit of trouble as he ended seventh in the first session and fifth in the second one with a couple of tenths of delay.

The fastest in the four free practice sessions of KF3 has been the Romanian driver Petru Florescu (Tony Kart-Vortex), who has won the second round of Sant'Egidio alla Vibrata. In Lonato he posted a very good 43"725. Good shape also for classification leader Alessio Lorandi (Tony Kart-Parilla), in 43"927, and his brother Leonardo has also been quick setting a 44"229.

In 60 Mini, current classification leader Giuseppe Fusco (Lenzo-Lke) keeps shining and in free practice he posted a 49"449. His main rival Nicola Abrusci (Tony Kart-Lke) was very close to him in 49"586. The other two free practice sessions were topped by Francesco Pagano (Top Kart-Parilla) in 50"062 and Lucas Legret ((Tony Kart-Lke) in 50"105.

In the smallest of the categories, the Formula 60 ACI/CSAI, Etienne Linty is led the way in the first session with a quickest lap of 52"489 while in the second he was still fastest in 52"662. Classification leader Santo Macaluso was more than half a second slower. The race of Lonato will be the third and last round of the season that will name the first champion in the history of Formula 60 ACI/CSAI.
