We are at the eve of the fifth and final round of the Italian CSAI Karting Championship, that is scheduled for this coming weekend at the Pista 7 Laghi of Castelletto di Branduzzo (Pavia). The final and most awaited round of the Italian Karting Championship will decide the winners of all the titles.

The 4 categories KZ2, KF2, KF3 and 60 Mini will be on track in this round while Formula 60 ACI/CSAI already ended its three rounds in Lonato and awarded the title to Santo Macaluso.

The situation in the standings is quite open and several drivers can still aim to the titles due also to the regulations that allow to discard three results out of the ten races making up the season.

IN KZ2 DANTE AT THE FINAL SPRINT

In KZ2 Massimo Dante (Maranello-Tm) is leading the standings with 139 points. He is 22 points clear of the winner of the first Final of Lonato Francesco Celenta (Energy-Tm) when 66 points have still to be assigned. Good chances to end on top for Marco Pastacaldi (Birel-Tm) and Antonio Piccioni (Intrepid-Tm), both third at 94 points and Alessandro Giulietti (Intrepid-Tm), who stands fourth at 89. The winner of the second final of Lonato, Massimo Mazzali (Art-Tm) will try climb the classification as now stands in sixth place with 73 points, while one of the emergent names in KZ2 Mattia Drudi (Maranello-Tm), is seventh at 64 points.

IN KF2 FINAL DUEL DARRAS-MORETTI

In KF2 the battle is tight between the French driver Julien Darras (Tony Kart-Tm), who is leading the standings with 185 points obtained thanks to three wins, and Marco Moretti (Kosmic-Tm) second at 134. The Brit Callum Ilott (Zanardi-Tm) is third at 122 and has a victory in his scoreboard. Marco Maestranzi (Top Kart-Tm) follows at 115 points, Luca Corberi (Kosmic-Vortex) at 113 (one win in Siena) and Andrea Moretti (Kosmic-Tm) with a victory and 94 points, all these drivers are ready to make some sparkles to the final round of the season.

IN KF3 ITS LORANDI – PULCINI AGAIN

In KF3 Alessio Lorandi (Tony Kart-Parilla) is in the lead, but the driver from Salò managed to get the victory (with a stunning double win) only in the last round of Lonato that relegated his closest rival, Leonardo Pulcini (Tony Kart-Vortex), to 24 points. The duel between Lorandi and Pulcini comes after the two have been recently among the main protagonists of the Junior World Championship held in Sarno, with Pulcini being victorious in the first round. The two will battle the Italian title out in Castelletto.

IN 60 MINI THE APPEAL COURT TO BE DECISIVE

In 60 Mini Nicola Abrusci (Tony Kart-Lke) is the main title contender as thanks to a win in the first final of Lonato and the placing in race-2 he climbed all the way to the top of the classification with 160 points. Francesco Pagano (Top Kart-Lke) is second at 121 points after winning the second final of Lonato, but the main rival in the title hunt is still Giuseppe Fusco (Lenzo-Lke), who is currently third at 120 points. The latter is still waiting for the response of the National Court of Appeal regarding his appeal after the race of Siena, where he was penalyzed by ten seconds after the victory in the second final due to an alleged irregularity made during the last lap. The result of the race of Castelletto might be able to resolve the matter before the result of the appeal, in case Abrusci kept enough margin to secure the title.
