A total of 141 drivers are present at the International Circuit La Conca of Muro Leccese for the opener of the Italian CSAI Karting Championship that confirms to be the landmark series for the national championships for categories KZ2, KF3, KF2 and 60 Mini.

Very good presence in KZ2, where 51 drivers will be well motivated to compete throughout the season, as in 60 Mini that sees 52 youngsters aged from 9 to 12 on track. Fourteen drivers will be present in KF2, while 24 will make it to the track of KF3 even though the number is destined to increase in the coming rounds.

The original calendar of the Italian Championship has also been confirmed as the inversion between the race of Sarno (22 June) and Siena (20 July) has been cancelled following the dates of the school exams.

Meanwhile, the nice circuit of La Conca that housed the European Championship a few days ago, has seen Lorenzo Camplese (Maranello-TM) shining in KZ2's practice this afternoon as he set the pace in both sessions. Alongside Camplese, the Italian Champion of the last two editions Alessandro Giulietti (Intrepid-TM) has been under the spotlight in the first session as Massimo Mazzali (Art-TM), Francesco Celenta (Energy-TM) and the surprising rookie in the category with the shift Francesco Iacovacci (Lenzo-LKE). Very quick pace for the Spaniard Pedro Hiltbrand (CRG-Maxter) in the second session and for Marco Zanchetta (Maranello-TM). Very good laps put in also by Pasquale Tellone (Birel-TM) and Luca Tilloca (Art-Modena).

In KF2 Marco Maestranzi (Top Kart-TM) has been the quickest in both sessions. Good times have also been posted by Adriano Albano (Tony Kart-TM) and Stefano Villa Zanotti (Tony Kart-Vortex). Very good performance for Remigio Garofano in KF3 (Tony Kart-Lke), who has so far dominated both sessions ahead of Tommaso Mosca (Birel-TM) and Lorenzo Travisanutto (PCR-TM).
