The International Circuit Napoli of Sarno is getting ready to house the second round of the Italian ACI-CSAI Karting Championship, race scheduled on the weekend of 20-22 June, with categories KZ2, KF2, KF3 and 60 Mini on track.

The opener that took place at the International Circuit La Conca of Muro Leccese at the end of May already gave some verdicts on the probable protagonists of this season. KZ2 is particularly interesting as it has 50 drivers at the start and several title contenders, starting from Maranello Kart's Marco Zanchetta and Lorenzo Camplese, that will be competing in the whole Italian series alongside their international commitments, aiming to win the championship. So far, Francesco Celenta (Energy) and the last two editions winner Alessandro Giulietti (Intrepid) also showed their good shape. Very good potential has been shown on track by CRG's Spaniard Pedro Hiltbrand, Massimo Mazzali and Paolo Ippolito. Giacomo Pollini and Luca Tilloca have been very quick in qualifying but then have been slowed down in the race by some problems.

KZ2 classification after round 1: 1. Zanchetta (Maranello-TM); 2. Camplese (Maranello-TM) 50; 3. Celenta (Energy-TM) 46; 4. Giulietti (Intrepid-TM) 30; 5. Hiltbrand (CRG-Maxter) 28; 6. Mazzali (Art GP-LKE) 22; 7. Ippolito (Birel-TM) 21; 8. Pollini (CKR-TM) 15; 9. Tilloca (Art GP-Modena) 13; 10. Di Poto (Formula K-TM) 7.

The amount of drivers making it to the track in KF2 at Sarno should increase compared to the 14 drivers racing in the first round at La Conca, where the championship points awarded have been decreased by 50% as stated in the regulations in case of races with less than 15 drivers. The victory in this category has been taken by Top Kart's Marco Maestranzi, who has also been great interpreter in the International races. Maestranzi had the luxury of winning both finals in La Conca with more than 5 seconds to the second, even in race-2 with the top eight grid inversion. Maestranzi, 18 years old from Rovereto, has so far been the unquestioned leader of the category.

KF2 classification after round 1: 1. Maestranzi (Top Kart-TM) punti 33; 2. Moretti (Exprit-TM) 23; 3. Albano (Tony Kart-TM) 20; 4. Romanucci (Tony kart-TM) 15; 5. Martucci (Tony Kart-Vortex) 14; 6. Gomez (CRG-TM) 12; 7. Villa Zanotti (Tony kart-Vortex) 10; 8. Scaravaggi (Tony Kart-TM) 6,5; 9. Cenedese (Tony kart-TM) 5; 10. Lanza (Tony kart-TM) 5.

Remigio Garofano on Tony Kart-LKE, the American Devlin Defrancesco on Tony Kart-Vortex and the Canadian Moreira-Laliberte on Tony Kart-TM came to the fore in KF3. Alike, Tommaso Mosca on Birel and Davide Lombardo on Exprit, as the latter two produced a good race-2. Garofano's superiority got concrete in race-1 where he clinched the victory by 6 seconds. The Italian driver run a solid race two, where he took the second place behind Mosca. Some other interesting youngsters are quite likely to slide in the fight for the top in this category with 24 drivers at the start of round one, such as PCR's Lorenzo Travisanutto and Lorenzo Colombo of Baby Race.

KF3 classification after round 1: 1. Garofano (Tony Kart-LKE) punti 62; 2. Defrancesco (Tony Kart-Vortex) 44; 3. Lombardo (Exprit-Vortex) 34; 4. Mosca (Birel-TM) 33; 5. Moreira-Laliberte (Tony Kart-TM) 32; 6. Sereia (Exprit-Vortex) 32; 7. Colombo (Tony Kart-TM) 19; 8. Murilo Della Coletta (Exprit-Vortex) 14; 9. Travisanutto (PCR-TM) 12; 10. Sebastian Fernandez (Exprit-Vortex) 11.

60 Mini has been quite lively with 52 drivers on track. The young drivers of Team Gamoto with CRG Dennis Hauger and Muizzuddin Mussyaffa have been under the spotlight. Alike those of team Baby (on Tony Kart) Nicola Abrusci – last year's winner – and Dimitri Bogdanov. Giuseppe Fusco and race two winner Skeed will certainly slide in the fight for the title as several others more.

60 Mini classification after round 1: 1. Hauger (CRG-LKE); 2. Abrusci (Tony Kart-LKE); 3. Muizzuddin (CRG-LKE); 4. Skeed (Top Kart-Parilla); 5. Michelotto (Top Kart-Parilla); 6.
